A Historical Landmark
The story of Fairway Hotel begins from a humble family home in Nakasero that belonged to the Jaffer family since 1927. Shortly after in 1972, during Idi Amin’s regime, Fairway Hotel was taken over by the Government during Uganda’s Economic war to became an army base. The return of the Jaffer family to Uganda in 1990 has seen the Hotel evolve to a 100 rooms boutique hotel with conference facilities, top restaurants, pools, and beautiful gardens.
The hotel has over 100 rooms, distributed over four blocks within a plush landscape of trim lawns, flower bushes, and diverse palm species. All the rooms offer spectacular view of the Kampala 18 hole golf course, Kitante Valley and Kololo hill. In terms of dinning, the hotel has two main restaurants i.e. Tree-top restaurant that derives its name from its elegant position in the trees, with a beautiful view of the hotel, the Kololo hills, the Golf course area and many other sights. Asian Fusion restaurant is a treasure trove of unique Indian and Chinese foods. The restaurant’s courtyard transports guests to the wonderful world of Asia; adorned with exquisite traditional art, Thai sculptures, and Chinese architecture with private booths for intimate gatherings.

The hotel has Ice Lounge bar described as an upscale bar, serving an assortment of cocktails, wine and beer in a refined-yet-relaxed atmosphere. I also enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere in the restaurants-each meal, from Thai to Indian, was scrumptious and well-prepared.
The hotel has Treetop restaurant, serving a range of local dishes and featuring a spacious terrace. There is a restaurant serving European food nearly 25 minutes' walk away. The on-site Asian fusion restaurant offered delicious meals, and we enjoyed relaxing by the beautiful pool and lush gardens. We are at the Asian Fusion restaurant last night in a big group and the food was amazingly good! and we had the full fusion - starting with chinese chicken, and guacamole (separate dishes!) - then a full Indian main course, with dal, vegetarian, rice, naan, butter chicken, mutton, fish in a lovely coconut sauce etc etc and ended with a sizzling chocolate pudding which was delicious!

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was exceptional, and the hotel facilities offered a beautiful pool and garden areas that provided a perfect place to relax. The location provided a pleasant atmosphere with gardens and leafy nooks, making our experience even better. We loved the stunning gardens, which created a beautiful atmosphere, and the staff's hospitality was exceptional, as they were always friendly and eager to assist.

The hotel facilities were great, especially the breakfast offered in the lovely outdoor setting; it made our mornings truly enjoyable. The location was perfect for exploring nearby shops and eateries, and we appreciated the convenience of having ample parking available.
