Situated in the upmarket residential area of Houghton, The Residence is a haven of relaxation away from the bustle of Johannesburg city. Very nice hotel, reminiscent of a private residence.

Once a private home, this luxurious property maintains a warm ambience with Persian rugs, velvet drapes, and French crystal chandeliers. There is an air of understated dignity at The Residence Johannesburg and you will find plenty to keep you interested and entertained.
Outside, you'll discover tropical gardens, fountains, and a pool. Stroll through the landscaped gardens, indulge your senses at the luxurious spa or enjoy a round at the celebrated Houghton Golf Course, located close by. The hotel, food and grounds are perfect. Nice recommendation.

The stylish bathrooms include underfloor heating, a music system, separate baths and showers, and a bath menu. Some suites even offer an alfresco bath, shower, or Jacuzzi.

When you stay at the Residence, you can also access other places popular with travelers in a short drive, such as the Apartheid Museum (15 minutes), Mandela's House (27 minutes), and OR Tambo International Airport (30 minutes). We used the hotel car to go to restaurants and that was a good, safe service.
Exceptional Service
The Residence, wow, super disappointed we didn't get to use all the facilities there and were in and out in no time. But this joint was well above our expectations, service and efficiency was the best of all venues. The Residence was the perfect welcome stop for the long trip to Johannesburg. The Residence. A beautiful facility and a great way to end the trip. The Residence in Johannesburg was unbelievable! I wasn´t expecting much and that surprised us a lot!
