Stay where the wild things are - Mjejane offers front-row seats to Africa’s most iconic animals. Guests frequently sight the Big Five during their stay, along with cheetah, hippo, wild dog and a large variety of antelope. Wildlife and safari experience are therefore much better than being in a private reserve. Birdlife is prolific with over 450 species recorded. Raptor sightings include Martial, Tawny and Fish Eagles as well as Steppe Buzzards.

Mjejane Game Reserve is fully absorbed into the Kruger National Park. All fences between the Mjejane Reserve and Kruger National Park were removed which makes the area a prime spot for wildlife to move freely between the reserve and the park. Kruger National Park is the third biggest wildlife in the world as it has a wide array of fauna and flora not found anywhere else.

Family-Friendly Adventures

Mjejane welcomes children of all ages - making it the perfect destination for multi-generational getaways. Children of all ages are welcome. Children under 12 years of age can be accommodated with parents in a standard room. A maximum of one child can share with two adults in a standard room. A maximum of two children can be accommodated with parents in the inter-leading family room.

  • Location: Located right on Kruger’s southern border with easy access to nearby entry gates - +-20km from the Malelane Gate.
  • Mjejane Game Reserve Road Levy: R350 per vehicle per 7 day stay (payable at the Mjejane Gate by card on arrival).
  • SIUC Levy: Some lodges include and some lodges exclude the SIUC levy, which is R60pppn for river lodges and R30pppn for reserve lodges. View each lodge page for further info.
  • Parties: Making excessive noise of any kind (music, shouting etc.) will not be tolerated. Please respect all other residents / guests at MGR.
  • Access to Kruger National Park from Mjejane: You have to use the Malelane or Crocodile Bridge Gates to enter Kruger National Park.

Wildlife: In addition to the Big 5, you can also find giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, crocodiles, and various species of antelope. The reserve is rich in birdlife as well, making it a haven for birdwatchers.
