Love Island South Africa: An Overview
Love Island South Africa follows the format of other versions of the show, featuring a group of single "islanders" living together in a villa in Cape Town, isolated from the outside world, as they attempt to find love.
The islanders are constantly monitored by live television cameras and audio microphones. To remain in the villa, the islanders must "couple up" with another islander, whether for love, friendship, or survival. The winning couple receives R500,000.
Islanders can be eliminated either by being single after a coupling or through a public vote. New islanders enter the villa as old ones are dumped.

The public votes for their favorite couple or the most compatible couple through the Love Island app. Couples with the fewest votes risk elimination. Occasionally, the islanders eliminate each other.
Each islander has their own phone to contact other islanders via text and receive updates about challenges, dumping, or re-coupling.
Islanders and couples participate in games and challenges designed to test their physical and mental abilities, with the winners receiving special prizes.
Millie's Journey on Love Island
Millie Terblanche was among the initial cast of islanders revealed during the launch of the first season on February 28th, 2021. The initial cast consisted of 5 boys and 5 girls.
Day 1: After the girls entered the villa, they were tasked with standing forward for a boy they were interested in, as the boys entered one by one. The boy was then able to choose which of the girls they wanted to couple with.

To do this, they had to kiss the islander of the opposite sex they'd guessed. If they got it right they scored a point.
Day 5: First re-coupling (Girls choice) - Millie & Jay, Summer & Kaige (Stayed together).
Day 9: Second re-coupling (Girls choice) - Erin & Ian, Sarah & Asad (Stayed together).
Day 10: Knowing me, knowing you - In this challenge, the couples had to answer questions about their partners, and if they were to match their partner's answer, they'd score a point.
Controversies and Criticism
The first season of the SA version was announced to be in production by MNet and ITV Studios on November 6th, 2021. Like with its international counterparts, the producers were looking for young and attractive singles to take part, asking them to send in audition tapes, with them also looking to conduct a level of headhunting.
