Snuggled amidst the picturesque sugarcane fields of Mauritius’s western region, Casela Nature Park stands as an inspiration for natural beauty and adventure. Covering over 350 hectares, this extensive park offers an array of attractions and activities suitable for individuals, families, and corporate outings alike.

Casela provides a full day of fun. From walking around and seeing animals up close, to safari bus tours, to more unique animal interactions such as camel rides, walking with lions, breakfast with giraffes and more! Additionally, there is the other side of the park focusing on fun in the form of rides, zip lining, mini golf, safari quad biking, to name a few.

Five zones will welcome you to meet more than 1,800 animals from all over the world. Casela Nature Park Mauritius is divided into five distinct zones, each offering its own unique attractions and experiences. Divided into five distinct zones, each with its own unique charm, Casela promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages. These zones include Thrill Mountain, Predator Kingdom, African Safari, Pangia Birds and Rides, and World of Events.

These areas are offered as options, adapted to the adrenaline rush and the pace of your visit. You can either take the standard ticket which costs around $20, or you can customise your experience.

  • Standard Ticket: Includes access to the Tulawaka Gold Coaster, a safari bus tour, a petting zoo, and the chance to see giraffes, sand camels, llamas, and predatory cats.
  • Explorer Package ($54): Includes the Zipline activity, a great drive to see the big cats, and a free photo at Safari Kingdom.
  • Safari Package ($46): Offers the opportunity to interact with lions, a game drive to view the big cats, a quad bike ride, and a unique interaction with rhinos.
  • Extreme Package ($54): Allows you to jump off a 45m high platform and dive into the canyon amongst the birds and even bats.
  • Family Package ($39): Enables you to feed turtles and giraffes, with children enjoying petting animals.

While the parks allow you to enjoy several activities and different interactions with the animals, there are a few rules to respect. Enter the parks with your bikes hover boards, kick scooters, skate boards.

The African safari tour is definitely a highlight of a Casela visit!! The best part for me was seeing the zebras, many of which approached us. The African Safari is a highlight, where you can observe zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and ostriches roaming in expansive, naturalistic enclosures.

The Tulawaka - Casela’s ‘thrilling’ ride on a toboggan, can be found at area 7. The zip-lining courses offer an exhilarating way to see the park from above, soaring over lush landscapes and canyons.

This immersive package includes park admission, a special “Zookeeper” t-shirt, lunch, refreshments, and a group photo session, ensuring a fun-filled and educational day for children of all ages. Additionally, the Kids Animal Adventure package offers a chance for young ones to interact closely with friendly creatures at the park’s petting farm, including giraffes and tortoises, while enjoying camel and horse-back rides from feeding giraffes and ostriches to bottle-feeding rabbits and fawns. Casela Nature Park Mauritius provides a safe and engaging environment for children to learn about animals and connect with nature.

While we saw tortoises from the safari truck, here you can walk through and interact with them. There are a lot of them too so even when it’s busy you can still find one or some to get up close with! A short walk from the tortoises took me to areas 4/5/6 which are all linked together. Here you can find the Pangia (kids park) & Petting Farm, as well as a lovely restaurant.

The Blue Bird Resto offers park-themed cuisine prepared by experienced chefs, featuring dishes crafted from fresh ingredients grown on the park’s fertile lands. With a panoramic view of Mauritius’ west coast, diners can enjoy their meal in a picturesque setting. For a family-friendly dining experience, the WamWam Restaurant serves generous custom-made pizzas, pasta, salads, and refreshing drinks in an open-air setting surrounded by nature and thrilling rides. Additionally, guests can indulge in a unique breakfast experience with the world’s tallest animals at the Breakfast with Giraffe event, featuring a buffet of delicious dishes amidst the morning breeze.

Wam Wam restaurant can be found here, and is an excellent lunch spot! Despite being on a solo visit I wasn’t missing out on a little restaurant chill, so I spent some time here and essentially had some lunch with the chickens who were milling around by my table.

Getting to Casela Nature Parks

Conveniently located on Royal Road in Cascavelle, Mauritius, the park is easily accessible by various modes of transportation. Visitors can reach Casela Nature Parks by car, taxi, or public bus. If you are traveling by car, simply follow Royal Road until you reach the park’s entrance. For those opting for a taxi ride, inform the driver of your destination, and they will take you directly to Casela Nature Parks. Additionally, public buses run regularly to Cascavelle, where visitors can then take a short taxi ride to the park. If you decide to hire a car in Mauritius, reaching Casela Nature Park can be done very quickly and easily.

To reach Casela Nature Park by bus from Flic en Flac, hop on any bus heading out of town. All of these buses will go to Cascavelle Shopping Mall. Most buses are heading to Port Louis, the opposite direction from Casela. However, you may be lucky and end up on a bus which will pass by Cascavelle then continue past Casela, just ask when you buy your ticket.

Casela Nature Park’s opening hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, so plan accordingly. Casela Nature Parks is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, allowing visitors ample time to explore its attractions and activities. However, please note that Casela World of Adventures is closed on December 25th and January 1st. To make the most of your visit, remember to bring essentials such as mosquito repellent, comfortable clothes and footwear, and a change of clothes for any unexpected adventures.
