Unite The World With Africa Foundation is a USA-based 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to provide opportunities for impoverished, marginalized women and youth across Tanzania, East Africa, to grow and thrive. This is achieved by investing in quality education and foundational support programs.
Core Programs and Initiatives
Unite's current key programs focus on addressing the knowledge crisis in Tanzania by creating and providing access to high-quality education, international mentorship, and comprehensive life skills programs. These programs are designed to empower the growth of leaders who can and will become the positive change agents and thought leaders of tomorrow.
The St. Joseph's Orphanage
Unite sponsors all 50 orphans, ages 2-26, for private school educations across the country. The organization also supports their comprehensive needs through the building of a safe, clean, comfortable home environment as well as by providing medical care, proper nutrition, and ongoing educational programs.
The Heaven School
Unite built and continues to support the Heaven Pre & Primary School on the same campus as the St. Joseph's Orphanage. This school provides a top-quality English-speaking education not only to the youngest orphans of St. Joseph's but also to now 200+ village children from surrounding areas.
Unite Scholars Program
Unite seeks out, vets, and supports extraordinary youth with extraordinary talents who would otherwise never be able to attend school or manifest their dreams.

Empowering youth in Africa: youth skills development through higher technical education
This initiative partners with local outfitters to combine personalized wildlife safaris with opportunities for travelers to discover, learn, share, and serve in the field. The LLC has also facilitated the purchase and sale of hundreds of thousands of dollars of African products to drive job creation and security for artisans across East Africa.
Impact and Collaboration
Unite the World with Africa Foundation has benefited from collaborations with various organizations, including the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. Students from the D'Amore-McKim Community Impact Initiative bring advanced business insight and a strategic mindset to the foundation.
These students analyze operations, identify audiences, and focus resources on meaningful opportunities. They contribute to social media strategies, mentorship programs, and overall organizational growth.

Addressing the Knowledge Crisis in Africa
According to a professor of African political thought at Cornell University, Olúfẹ́mi Táíwò, Africa’s largest crisis today is not a lack of water or food but instead it is a lack of knowledge. In Tanzania alone, there are ~25 million children under the age of 16 (43% of the population) who are eager to learn and desperate to receive an education; however, few will get the opportunity.
Lessons Learned and Future Directions
Working in a culture so different than her own, the founder of Unite has learned countless lessons. In Africa she has witnessed the enormity and complexity of human need and the fall out of good-yet-misguided intentions. She has learned that no matter how humble one’s circumstances, every human has a desire-and a right-to be seen, honored and validated.
With this in mind Unite is small and focused by design. They are “in it” for the long haul, working closely alongside those they serve with near daily communications, an in-country support staff and regular site visits by Board Members and Advisors not only to protect their investment but to do all that is necessary to achieve their shared greater goal, which is to break the complex and multifaceted chains of extreme poverty-one of the greatest threats to Planet Earth today.
