Troutbeck Resort was founded by Major Herbert Macllwaine in 1947 and has undergone considerable changes over the years. The resort has a pleasant, gentrified feeling, reminiscent of a country club, and offers excellent service and beautiful accommodation.

When you stay at Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga, you'll find yourself surrounded by natural beauty. Troutbeck is high in the mountains, with the land sloping downwards to the north, offering views of the Nyangui mountain range. Troutbeck village itself has a small shopping center, and about 10 minutes' walk to the north is a church built by Italian prisoners of war in the 1940s.
