What stands out for me is definitely the proximity and density of the Big 5 and many many more great animals and birds.

All the staff at Ngala were very friendly and helpful and tried their best to make you feel welcome. The meals were delicious. Our Ranger, Lee-Anne was very knowledgeable, great fun and had a lovely sense of humour.

We had an incredible time on our trip to South Africa. The combination of the World Cup and safari was perfect. The service was spectacular and the guides were very knowledgeable. We had a great time at Ngala and we were very well looked after. Accommodation, food etc all very good.

Ngala was an awesome experience. Our guide and tracker, Daniel and Geddis, were excellent and every day was a new adventure. We had no idea what it would be like and were thrilled with the experience. They also did several special things for our anniversary with champagne and a private poolside dinner, arranged by our butler, MK, who was also very special and great at his job. Oscar, the chef, was superb and every meal was a culinary delight. Ngala was also a lot of fun and we will keep exceptional memories of our stay and we will contact you when we return as it is obvious that we will.

Conservation and Community

andBeyond has a great ethic and is all over the conservation and community story and &Beyond and will suggest Ngala to anyone who goes there.

The Ngala Private Game Reserve was created in the early 1990s as the result of a three-way partnership between andBeyond, the World Wildlife Fund, and South African National Parks - the first instance of a private game preserve being incorporated into the famed Kruger National Park. Since its establishment, the reserve has paved the way for further concessions in the park. andBeyond now leases reserve land from WWF and donates a portion of its revenue to the SANParks Trust, with funds used to expand smaller national parks within South Africa.

In collaboration with nonprofit partner Wild Impact, andBeyond has provided those in rural parts of Mpumalanga with barrel-shaped containers called hippo rollers to make water gathering quicker and easier. These rollers hold up to 90 liters of water and can be moved across the ground rather than carried.

In the 1990s, andBeyond and Wild Impact partnered to launch what has become one of its most popular initiatives, the Community Leaders Education Fund. This tertiary education program supports college-aged students in South Africa, Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, and Namibia, providing scholarships in hopes of increasing both earning potential and job opportunities for those from rural communities. The initiative has already doled out more than 1,200 bursaries to those from 62 different African villages.

We are committed to positive and transformative impact.
