Born in Mountain View, California, Michael Chad attended Bellarmine College Preparatory, where he played on the varsity volleyball squad for two seasons under head coach Scott Peterson. During his time there, he earned the Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 distinction. As a senior, he was named to the All-West Catholic Athletic League first team. In his sophomore year, he was voted Most Improved Player.
Collegiate Career at Pepperdine
Chad chose Pepperdine "because of its outstanding business program, and the opportunity to learn under legendary coach Marv Dunphy".
2013 Season
As a freshman in 2013, Chad saw action in three sets and three matches. He came off the bench versus Hope International (3/8) and chalked one kill.
2017 Season
In 2017, Chad started in one-of-two matches played and saw action in six sets.
