Accommodation at Bush Lodge

The Bush Lodge provides comfortable and elegant accommodations with 12 luxury safari tents built around the indigenous bush. At a great price quality ratio, The Bush Lodge finally offers a safari camp which is affordable and authentic. The lodge currently consists of six self-contained units which are spaciously placed between the indigenous bush.

  • Bandas - 12 self-contained bandas placed between the forest bush. Built on a raised wooden platform with huge mosquito netted windows allowing a 180-degree view. Each room has a private terrace overlooking the stunning Kamera river. All bandas have an en-suite bathroom with running water.
  • Self Contained-Tent - for some privacy and a real bush experience, there are two self-contained tents. Ideal for families, an extra tent can be placed on the adjacent platform.
  • Non-Self-Contained Tent - furnished with comfortable beds, a bedside table and a power outlet. All tents are placed under a grass thatched roof, creating your private terrace and providing shade.

The rooms are built on a raised wooden platform and made from a fine combination of canvas and local materials. All tents are placed under a grass-fetched roof, which creates a private terrace and provides some welcome shade. The tents share a communal ablution block with showers and flushing toilets. Guests don’t need to worry about linen as the camp provides all bedding and towels. Queen Elizabeth Bush Lodge offers a budget friendly accommodation in the form of 10 non-self-contained tents.

Dining Experience

Guests can enjoy meals and lounge in the main area, which is a large dining tent overlooking the Kazinga Channel and the Rwenzori mountain ranges. Based on the camp’s small impact safari concept, a large dining tent is used as the restaurant. This dining tent has been set up to overlook the Kazinga channel from where the Rwenzori mountain ranges can be admired as a backdrop. As to stay within the low impact safari concept, a large dining tent was chosen for restaurant. The tent is set so to overlook the Kazinga Channel and to have the Rwenzori mountain range as a backdrop while enjoying our excellent food.

In the evenings, when the weather allows, guests can opt for a starlit dinner outside, with paraffin lights and a campfire creating a cozy setting for a 4-course dinner. Weather permitting, guests have the opportunity to dine under the bright, African starlit sky. The paraffin fires, as well as the campfire, provide a fantastic atmosphere for a delicious four-course dinner. In the evenings though, when weather allows, if so you wish, your table can be taken outside and organized a starlit dinner. Paraffin lights and a campfire create a cozy setting from where your 4 course dinner will be served.

Set menus are offered, and special requests and dietary requirements can be met if these are communicated to the lodge in advance. The chef caters to vegetarian menus, but guests are advised to inform their booking agent of any dietary requirements before arrival.
