The Dynamic Duo: Gaydos and Chad Take to the Airwaves

A new chapter began for KTAR listeners as Larry Gaydos teamed up with Chad Benson for the "Gaydos and Chad" show. This collaboration promised a refreshing blend of perspectives during afternoon drive time on KTAR (92.3 FM), starting January 21.

Chad Benson, known for hosting a show on KTAR and Radio America’s nationally syndicated “The Chad Benson Show,” stepped in to fill the shoes of Mac Watson, who had co-hosted with Gaydos for years.

Gaydos expressed his excitement on Twitter, stating, “Get ready for the ‘Gaydos and Chad’ show! I’ve got to tell you, we can’t wait to launch this new show. It’s going to be a wild ride!”

A Blend of Perspectives

KTAR is a Bonneville station, and according to Sutherland, “We’re excited about Chad. He’s awesome. … He’s an energetic guy, he’s a passionate guy. He shares a lot of the values we have at KTAR." Then the show carries his nationally syndicated show for two hours.

Benson’s take on the issues offers a refreshing sound that gives talk listeners the hard news and opinion that they need in a thoughtful, entertaining way that they CRAVE.”

While Gaydos isn't a staunch liberal, Sutherland anticipates a balanced approach. "I think it will be a good blend of both, honestly,” he said. “I’m not concerned about that."

He added, “The days of the plant-the-flag radio, and today for four hours we’re going to talk about immigration and if you don’t agree with us you’re an idiot, nobody wants that kind of talk.”

Expectations for the Show

As for what Sutherland expects from the show, he’s not sure yet. “I think that has to be organic,” he said. “I think both he and Larry are strong personalities. I think they will bring out the best in each other. I think they will have good and intelligent dialogue and attack the issues.

“I think it will be a good blend of both, honestly,” he said. “I’m not concerned about that.
