Some mentioned specific dishes like the Benedict burger and chicken Caesar as delicious options.
The venue provides a comfortable play area for children during daytime visits, unique cocktails, beautiful views of the beach from inside and outside seating areas, and an overall enjoyable experience.
Atmosphere and Entertainment
Shimmy Beach Club offers a chilled setting with the option to enjoy meals and cocktails while overlooking the waters.
I loved the chilled setting. Being able to look over the waters and have sand at your feet but also have the option of sitting and enjoying a meal and cocktails.
Then having the option of dancing to the beats of whatever music is playing is great.

A really incredible venue-right on the water, good food and drink and great music.
I had the chance the see Black Coffee who had a summer residency there.
Simply love everything about it... From the amazing food to the incredible view.
I once took my very busy toddler along during daytime, and he was well taken care of in the comfortable play area, with its own designated child minder.
I was super happy with that experience.

Very beautiful place. Was just at the lounge side.
The cocktails were unique and delicious. There is a pool outside.
And over the wall you can see the beach.
Seating inside and outside.
The deserts are limited but also unique and delicious.
Enjoyed the experience. Would like to go there when there is a party going on.

Dining Experience
Higher end place so the prices are a bit higher here compared to Long st tourist area but the food, service and view make up for the price.
We had the Benedict burger and chicken ceaser. Both were delicious in their own right.
The Benedict burger was awesome.
Juices from back bacon and perfectly cooked egg flowed with the flavor.
Was surprised at the amount of meat in the ceaser.
Bacon and chicken in abundance as well as anchovies.
If you like lots of meat it will please you. If you are looking more for the greens it might be a bit much.
Good value for your money.
If possible, get a table for easier service at Shimmy Beach Club.
Avoid ordering certain dishes like meat platter based on reviews; opt for pizza instead.
Additional Information
Bring warm clothing as it can get chilly due to wind especially in the evenings.
Controversies
Once Lifman quietly added Shimmy to his business portfolio and the media caught wind of it, the club quickly issued an official "response to negative press allegations."
In their statement, they were very careful with their words: "Shimmy wishes to state categorically that Mr. Lifman is not, and has never been, a stakeholder in Shimmy.
Shimmy has no relationship whatsoever with Mr. Lifman."
While that might be legally accurate, we’ve confirmed through multiple current and former employees that Mark Lifman is, in fact, a regular at Shimmy Beach Club, managing security operations.
According to two sources, Lifman also sank a cash “loan” into Shimmy and provided security and restaurant equipment to it with Hennig’s knowledge.
“Shimmy obtain [ed] certain restaurant supplies and security services from two entities that our clients understand are linked to Lifman . . .
“He [Lifman] made a cash loan . . . The lease from the Waterfront was in place to build and develop this funky beach restaurant . . . His loan was paid back.
At the beginning, Lifman also provided security to Shimmy. . . “The Waterfront was specifically told that Lifman was not involved in the new venture, which was a joint venture between Mace and Sundoo .
“On the basis that the barrier [Lifman’s involvement] was no longer an issue, Mace approached the Trust [Hennig’s] to invest in Shimmy.
