Accommodation

Salt Lick Safari Lodge has 96 unique rooms, all elevated on stilts and built across two levels, with ensuite bathrooms with permanent showers and WC, and running hot and cold water. En-suite guest rooms at this Kenya safari game lodge enjoy uninterrupted views of the waterholes and surrounding landscapes.

Dining Experience

Vuria Bar Lounge

Guests can gather in the evenings in the terraced lounge and bar overlooking the main waterhole for drinks at sunset. The bar and adjoining shaded terrace above the Bura Restaurant provides spectacular views of the main waterhole and surrounding grasslands, and are ideal to relax and have your favourite cocktail or coffee while watching the wildlife below. Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is nestled within the Eastern Arc Range of Mountains inscribed by UNESCO as a biodiversity hotspot hosting varied endemic wildlife species and a myriad of unique flora. The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area for a wide variety of game such as Lion, Buffalo and Giraffe.

The sanctuary lies within the Eastern Arc Mountain Range, which extends from Taita Hills over the border into Tanzania and towards Lake Malawi. The sanctuary has a number of well marked routes and guests can take an arranged game drive or set off on self-drive routes in the company of a ranger if requested.

The Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is home to over 50 species of large mammal, including elephant, cape buffalo, lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as more than 390 species of bird. Elephant, zebra and buffalo sightings are relatively common, their presence sometimes attracting big cats.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary is situated next to Tsavo West National Park, one of the oldest and largest in Kenya.
