Step-by-Step Guide to Sending Money to Nigeria with Remitly

Now you’re ready to start your money transfer to Nigeria. Select Get Started or Send Money on the Remitly app or Send money if you’re using Remitly on your web browser.

  1. Enter the amount of money you’d like to send in US dollars. We’ll automatically display the amount your recipient will receive in Nigerian naira.
  2. When you enter the amount of money you’d like to send in US dollars to Nigeria, you’ll be able to view the delivery options that are available and choose the option that’s right for you and your recipient.
  3. Now choose your delivery method. It's important to let the sender know your preferred method. Check with the person who you’re sending money to in Nigeria and find out how they’d like to receive their money. Depending on what country you’re sending money to, Remitly offers these delivery methods:

If you select Bank Deposit as your delivery method to Nigeria, you’ll need to enter information about your recipient’s bank account. If you select Cash Pickup as your delivery method, we’ll ask you to choose a pickup location from our list of available delivery providers in Nigeria that’s convenient for your recipient.

  1. Next, enter your recipient’s full name. We’ll also ask for your phone number and address.
  2. Next, enter your date of birth. It’s important that you enter your correct birthdate as it appears on your identification, because we may need that information to verify your identity later.
  3. Now it’s time to choose how you’d like to pay for your money transfer to Nigeria.
