My Favorite Uses
How to Choose the Best Lip Balm for Your Needs: Best Lip Balms In Sri Lanka! 😍✨
My favorite use is under my lipstick, as I like to use a long-wearing lipstick for work and those tend to be drying. However, when I use Moroccan Magic Lip Balm before applying an ultra-matte lipstick, it saves my lips! It’s the perfect lip primer for those super matte lipsticks.
Moroccan Magic Lip Balm is also part of my nighttime skin care routine.
Last is my holy grail lip item for every day. The Perfect Pink Nude Tint is my all-time favorite item! For the days that I need to quickly run out the door to drop my son off at preschool, I just swipe this on after using the scrub and balm. Honestly, I can use the tint on its own as well as it is moisturizing.
Plus, sometimes it can be frustrating to go through the effort of putting on lip liner and lipstick for it to fade away quickly (as it does for me). This quick and easy routine doesn’t take much time at all.
I love using the Rose Vanilla Lip Scrub on the days that my lips are a bit flaky. There is nothing like applying this after cleansing my face in the morning and brushing my teeth. The rosehip seed powder provides the perfect gentle scrub to get lips smooth.

Key Ingredients and Their Benefits
The formulation of this Moroccan Magic lip balm is super buttery and smooth. It feels like the nourishing oils just melt into your lips and create a lovely texture that is comfortable and hydrating.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil
Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil is the oil derived from the seeds of a Sunflower. Sunflower seed oil is non-fragrant. It is an emollient, meaning it helps to soften the skin. Sunflower seed oil contains many fatty acids. These fatty acids help the skin create ceramides. Ceramides play a role in repairing the skin barrier. Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil helps moisturize the skin. This in turn helps the skin look more rejuvenated and smoother.
Sunflowers are rich in vitamin E. Historians believe Indigenous cultures of North America domesticated sunflowers before corn. Thus they relied on sunflower oil for a variety of uses. One such use is moisturizing skin and hair. Sunflower seed oil may not be fungal acne safe.
Beeswax
Beeswax is natural wax produced by honey bees and can be synthetically created. It consists mainly of fatty acid esters and long-chain alcohols. In cosmetics, beeswax is an emollient. Due to its waxy structure, it creates a protective barrier. This barrier prevents water from evaporating off the skin. This may not be a good ingredient for oily skin.
We recommend speaking with a professional if you have concerns. Beeswax cannot be removed with water, but can be taken off with an oil cleanser. Beeswax is also antiseptic and contains vitamin A.
Argan Oil
You may know this ingredient as argan oil. Argan Oil has antioxidant, hydrating, and soothing properties. Studies have shown argan oil can help fight again radical damage from the sun. This makes it effective at preventing hyperpigmentation. Large amounts of vitamin E found in argan oil helps the skin retain water. Argan oil also contains fatty acids such as linoleic acid, oleic acid, and palmitic acid. It is also a good source of lipids.
Another benefit of argan oil is skin-soothing. It can help reduce inflammation-related skin symptoms. Argan Oil is effective at regulating sebum production in pores. This can make it effective at treating hormonal acne. Traditionally, argan oil was used for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. However, argan oil contains fatty acids that may make it not fungal-acne safe. Argan Trees are native to Morocco.
Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Cocos Nucifera Oil is obtained from the kernels of the coconut fruit. In other words, this is coconut oil. Coconut Oil is rich in fatty acids with lauric acid making up the majority of these. It also contains linoleic acid. Due to this high fatty acid content, coconut oil helps trap moisture and soften skin.
Despite being antibacterial, coconut oil may not be great for acne-prone skin. It is comedogenic and may clog pores. This ingredient may not be safe for malassezia or fungal acne.
Note: Coconut Oil should not replace your sunscreen for UV protection. Studies show it only blocks about 20% of UV. This oil is non-volatile and has a light scent.
Fragrance
The term 'fragrance' is not regulated in many countries. In many cases, it is up to the brand to define this term. For instance, many brands choose to label themselves as "fragrance-free" because they are not using synthetic fragrances.
Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
Tocopherol (also known as Vitamin E) is a common antioxidant used to help protect the skin from free-radicals and strengthen the skin barrier. It's also fat soluble - this means our skin is great at absorbing it. Vitamin E also helps keep your natural skin lipids healthy. Your lipid skin barrier naturally consists of lipids, ceramides, and fatty acids. Vitamin E offers extra protection for your skin’s lipid barrier, keeping your skin healthy and nourished.
Another benefit is a bit of UV protection. Vitamin E helps reduce the damage caused by UVB rays. (It should not replace your sunscreen). Combining it with Vitamin C can decrease sunburned cells and hyperpigmentation after UV exposure. You might have noticed Vitamin E + C often paired together. This is because it is great at stabilizing Vitamin C. Using the two together helps increase the effectiveness of both ingredients.
Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract
Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract comes from rosemary. Rosemary is native to the Mediterranean. While Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil can be volatile due to its fragrant properties, the fragrance components are usually removed in the leaf extract.
Rosemary Leaf Extract contains many antioxidants such as rosmarinic acid and caffeic acid. Rosemarinic acid, a compound found in rosemary leaf, has been found to help soothe skin conditions such as eczema and acne.
Calendula Officinalis (Marigold) Extract
Calendula Officinalis Extract comes from the common Marigold plant. Marigold flowers contain flavonoids. Flavonoids are a group of substances found naturally in plants. They possess antioxidant and inflammation properties. This ingredient may help soothe your skin by reducing inflammation. Emerging studies show it inhibits nitrous oxide production safely, therefore reducing inflammation.
Marigolds have been used in traditional medicine throughout Asia and Europe.
Pelargonium Graveolens (Rose Geranium) Oil
Pelargonium Graveolens Oil is the pressed oil of the Rose Geranium plant. It has perfuming and masking properties. This ingredient contains citronellol and geraniol. These compounds may cause allergies and skin-sensitivity.
Mica
Mica is a naturally occurring mineral used to add shimmer and color in cosmetics. It can also help improve the texture of a product or give it an opaque, white/silver color. Serecite is the name for very fine but ragged grains of mica.
This ingredient is often coated with metal oxides like titanium dioxide. Trace amounts of heavy metals may be found in mica, but these metals are not harmful in our personal products. Mica has been used since prehistoric times throughout the world. Ancient Egyptian, Indian, Greek, Roman, Aztec, and Chinese civilizations have used mica.
Titanium Dioxide
Titanium dioxide is a mineral UV filter widely used in sunscreens and cosmetics. Titanium dioxide provides broad-spectrum protection mostly in the UVB and UVAII range, with some protection in the UVAI range. While its UVA protection isn’t as strong as zinc oxide’s, the difference is minor.
A common myth is that mineral UV filters reflect UV light. However, modern research shows titanium dioxide absorbs UV radiation like chemical filters (~95% absorption & 5% reflection). Thanks to its non-irritating nature, titanium dioxide is suitable for sensitive, acne-prone, or redness-prone skin. It is unlikely to cause "eye sting" like other sunscreen ingredients.
A major drawback of this ingredient is its white cast and thick texture. This is why mineral sunscreens often leave a white cast and are less cosmetically elegant than chemical/hybrid sunscreens.
To improve white cast and spreadability, micronized or nano-sized titanium dioxide is often used. There are ongoing concerns surrounding nano-titanium oxide's impact on marine ecosystems.
There is no conclusive evidence that any form of titanium oxide (or any other sunscreen ingredients) will cause harm to marine ecosystems or coral reefs. The science is still developing but many consumers are keeping a close eye on this issue. Please note, many destinations have reef-safety sunscreen rules. Virgin Islands advises all visitors to use non-nano mineral sunscreens.
Nano mineral sunscreens once raised safety concerns about absorption into skin. Extensive research has shown that they do not penetrate healthy or damaged skin; they remain safely on the surface and the top layer of dead skin (stratum corneum).
You'll likely find titanium dioxide bundled with alumina, silica, or dimethicone. These ingredients help make titanium dioxide highly photostable; this prevents it from interacting with other formula components under UV light.
CI 77492 (Iron Oxide)
Ci 77492 is also hydrated iron III oxide. It's sole purpose is to give a yellow hue to products. Synthetically created Ci 77492 is considered safer than those naturally found. This is because the synthetically created version may contain less impurities. Iron oxides are generally non-toxic and non-allergenic.
