These accommodations are designed to blend seamlessly with the environment, offering breathtaking views of the ocean.Why We Like It: For us a strong candidate for the best luxury resort in Mauritius, the 5 Star Constance Le Prince Maurice, just an hour from Port Louis and its international airport, is a divine slice of paradise and one that boasts the country’s only overwater bungalows. There are just eleven in total though - eight junior suites and three particularly spacious and luxurious water villas - so we’d recommend you book well in advance.All suites are elegantly appointed, with a furnished private terrace or balcony. The resort offers a unique pillow menu to select the perfect bedding for your stay. Rooms range from junior suites and beach villas to the only overwater bungalows in Mauritius. Beyond the overwaters the beachside accommodation at Constance Prince Maurice is equally impressive.Though the height of luxury and beautifully styled we think they have one drawback, that is that they sit over a lagoon fish sanctuary. This means that though it features much interesting sea life, you are not allowed to swim just outside your door. Once that disappointment is overcome though we think these overwater bungalows leave very little else to complain about, and the Constance Prince Maurice in general is a truly fantastic resort.The Constance Le Prince Maurice generally gets fantastic and excellent reviews from past guests, especially for the setting and the food. Those who’ve come on a honeymoon or other romantic trip call the resort perfect for such occasions, but others mention the abundance of free activities as making it excellent for any luxury vacation, including for families. Even though there are facilities and activities for children and families, this is a remote 5-star resort, so it's best suited to honeymoons and other romantic couples getaways. To reach the Constance Le Prince Maurice you’ll need to fly to the main airport on Mauritius.Amenities and Activities:In terms of amenities, Constance Prince Maurice is well equipped with a range of upscale amenities. There’s a fitness center, spa, and Kids Club. Guests can go golfing nearby, book diving excursions, or enjoy a tasting at the resort’s 25,000-label wine cellar. We have a great range of activities here.Then there are the water activities - snorkeling, kayaking, glass floor boating, windsurfing, water skiing, kite surfing, scuba diving, fishing, and more. It has excellent spa facilities and a whole host of activities can be enjoyed including water sports and golf at not one but two different 18-hole championship golf courses.In addition to the largest wine cellar in the Indian Ocean, the resort offers an overwater restaurant and a variety of dining venues. There is an Asian kitchen at the resort too where you can enjoy some great sushi plus a selection of Asian classic dishes. We have three bars to choose from too, one which, like Le Barachois Restaurant, floats out on the lagoon and another of which, the Laguna Bar, has live music every night, usually of the smooth jazz or world music variety.Though the resort mainly caters to romantic getaways, honeymoons, etc. Constance Le Prince Maurice has 89 suites and villas spread over 150 acres of stunning beach, lagoon, and lush tropical gardens. The villas though are over twice the size at 1,400 square feet (130 m² ).Though the place seems more adult/couple orientated children can and do come here too. There they have a team of very well-trained staff who keep them well entertained with activities - some educational, some sporty, some just plain fun.
