The Resort grounds feature a marina and convenience store with docks, pontoon rentals, boat ramp, fuel dock, gourmet pizza and ice cream parlor, large covered outdoor pavilion, and bonfire pit.
Escape to the great outdoors and experience the ultimate camping adventure at our full hookup sites. Our 14’x14′ tent sites have mulch base tent pads, so setting up is a breeze. Each comes with an illuminated convenience station for cooking, charging devices, and storing essentials. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and a little extra seating to roast a marshmallow around the campfire. There is on-site parking for convenience and you are adjacent to all the centralized recreation activities of the campground. Each site has its own water and electric.

Discover Lake of Egypt
Lake of Egypt is located six miles (10 km) south of Marion, Illinois and covers 2,300 acres (9 km²) with 90 miles (140 km) of shoreline. The lake has an average depth of 18 feet (5.5 m) with a maximum depth of 52 feet (16 m). The lake's irregular shape reveals its origins as a dammed river amidst hilly terrain.

As a privately owned lake, it is subject to regulation by its owners and the state. Public access is allowed as are all size boat motors. Waterskiing and jet skis are also permitted in most of the lake. Fishing includes Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Channel Catfish, Striped Bass, and Crappie.
Camping at the lake is allowed at Buck Ridge Campground, part of the Shawnee National Forest.
Lake of Egypt was founded by Southern Illinois Power Cooperative (SIPC) to supply cooling water to their newly constructed coal burning power plant.

You no longer need to choose. This place has all of that. This venue is beautiful! The staff did a great job and it was great having the lake for the perfect background for the ceremony.
The venue itself is breathtaking, from the chapel to the amazing landscaping. Added bonus: the food was delicious!!!

The resort borders the Shawnee National Forest which extends over 280,000 acres of rough mountaintops and rugged rock formations between the natural borders of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Maple, dogwood, oak, and pine are interspersed among the unique sandstone formations that decorate the eastern hills.
