G. Kim Erica Richards, born on September 19, 1964, in Mineola, New York, is an American actress, socialite, and television personality. She began her career as a child actress and rose to prominence from her roles in Nanny and the Professor, Escape to Witch Mountain, and Return from Witch Mountain. In 2010, Richards appeared as a main cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alongside her sister Kyle Richards.
Kim Richards has come a long way since being introduced as a Real Housewife in Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. At the time, Kim was known as a former child actress known as the "Disney Girl" (thanks to her appearance in countless Disney movies in the 1970s), who has also appeared in a number of TV shows. During her time on the show, she was honest about her struggles with her sobriety and in her relationships with her sisters, then-fellow Real Housewife Kyle Richards and big sister (and future Housewife), Kathy Hilton. Kim Richards was born on September 19, 1964, in Mineola, New York, to Kathleen Mary and Kenneth Edwin Richards. Kim has a younger sister, Kyle Richards, who is also an actress. She later starred in the short-lived television series Hello, Larry (1979-80) and appeared as a guest on numerous episodes of American television shows, including Emergency!, Diff'rent Strokes, Alice, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, CHiPs, Magnum, P.I., James at 16, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Rockford Files, and Little House on the Prairie as Olga Nordstrom.
As a young adult, she appeared in Meatballs Part II (1984) and Tuff Turf (1985). in 1990, she co-produced the film Escape, along with then-husband G. Monty Brinson. Richards appeared in a supporting role as Christina Ricci's estranged mother in the drama film Black Snake Moan (2006). In 2009, Kim Richards made a special appearance in Race to Witch Mountain.
In 2010, Richards began appearing as a regular cast member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, alongside her sister Kyle.
Kim Richards has been married twice and has four children. In 1985, she married Monty Brinson. They had one daughter, Brooke Ashley. Later in 1988, she married Gregg Davis. They had two children, Whitney Nicole and Chad Austin. After her second marriage, Kim had a relationship with John Jackson. They had a daughter named Kimberly Collette.

Kim Richards became a mom for the first time in 1986 when she gave birth to her first daughter, Brooke. She became a mom for the second time when she gave birth to her daughter, Whitney Davis, in 1990. Kim gave birth to her third child and only son, Chad Davis, in 1991. Kim took to Instagram in September 2020, where she wrote the sweetest message for Chad, singing his praises. "You make me so proud," Kim wrote. "You are strong, loyal, loving, kind, and always striving to grow. Don't ever underestimate your accomplishments they are huge! I love you so so so very much. Thank you for choosing me."
In a September 2020 Instagram post dedicated to her daughters, Kim wrote such a touching tribute to all three of them. "I just Love You All with my entire heart," she wrote. "There are not enough words in the world to describe my love and joy I have for each of you. You each are so similar yet so different. I am happy they made a day for amazing like Daughters. I love and appreciate all three of you."
During her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Richards's son Chad Davis joined her on Dr. Phil. Preview clips from the formal interview - along with excerpts - were released to Us Weekly on Monday, April 27, and revealed how the incident first started.
Dr. Phil then called out Richards for setting a poor example for her four kids, three of whom were present for the intervention. "You are drunk in a bar, fighting with a cop," Dr. Phil noted, as Richards' kids Brooke Brinson, Chad, and Kimberly Jackson looked on.
Meanwhile, the reality star's son Chad called out Glanville, who has evolved into one of Richards' close friends in season five of the franchise. "She's toxic," Chad said.

Kim Richards has had a longtime love of horses. In 2017, Kim started working with horses at Skydog Ranch, which rescues and rehabilitates horses. "When I'm here, I'm in it," Kim told E! News in 2017. "I feel amazing. The horses make me feel so good. I feel like I'm a part of something so huge and I know I'm making a difference. It's such a big picture of what's happening and the changes happening and how they (the animals here) make me feel. There are no words to describe how I feel with horses. When I leave here, it's like I'm in another world."
Although Kim and her sister, Kyle, have had their differences in the past, they are currently in a very good place. During BravoCon 2023 in Las Vegas in November, Kyle provided an update about where she stands with Kim today, noting that both her and Kathy have been behind her amid her separation with Mauricio Umansky.
Kim made a surprise appearance on RHOBH Season 13 when she showed up in Episode 7 (which first aired in December 2023) to comfort Kyle and provide wisdom amid her feud with their older sister, Kathy. "Life is just too short to fight," Kim told Kyle. "It's just not worth it."
During RHOBH Season 13, Episode 7, Kim shared that she has been busy tending to her grandchildren and living her life. Kyle offered more insight into her older sister's wellbeing. "Kim went through a really hard time during the pandemic," Kyle said. "She was one of those people who did not leave her home."
Kim Richards' Relationships
In 1985, Richards married Monty Brinson, a supermarket-franchise heir who later became a professional poker player. Following her separation from Davis, Richards dated commodities salesman John J. Collett, a central figure in a criminal scheme involving 8,000 elderly investors and nearly US$150 million (equivalent to $346 million in 2024) in losses. On October 28, 1991, he was murdered outside Brent's Deli in Northridge. After Collett's death, Richards was in a relationship with aircraft-parts supplier John Jackson from 1992 to 1996. From 2012 to 2018, she was in a relationship with businessman Wynn Katz.
