Overview of Kapama Southern Camp
Located in the extreme south of the reserve, the spectacular Kapama Southern Camp offers luxury-thatched suites. The camp is easily reached by flying to nearby Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport. What I like about this lodge is that it has something for everyone, whether you are travelling together as a family, experiencing the bush as an independent traveller or enjoying a romantic getaway.
Accommodation
All suites are discreetly hidden in the surrounding indigenous forest that’s alive with birdsong. Kapama Southern Camp has seven luxury villas equipped with private lap pools, inside and outside showers, and romantic fireplaces that emit cosy warmth into the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. Three of these luxury villas can accommodate families and feature separate connected bedrooms for children.
Easily reached by flying to nearby Hoedspruit's Eastgate Airport, Kapama Southern Camp has a range of accommodation options, from honeymooners who will be thrilled by having romantic fireplaces and outdoors showers all to themselves, to families where the children have a very comfortable bedroom to share. All accommodations were pretty much as pictured and nice.

Dining Experience
Breakfast and lunch buffets are enjoyed in the open-sided dining room, which allows you to keep an eye on the surrounding treetops for inquisitive vervet monkeys or birds like hoopoes and African hornbills. Kapama’s pre-breakfast is the best with deli meats and cheese. The pastry chef at Kapama was excellent. There was always plenty of food at Kapama. Kapama had a good wine list, the others generally a white and red with the varietal varying).
The choices of food were amazing: combining always some African specialties with other more international dishes. Just one example of the outstanding service was on the last evening, when they prepared a surprise dinner outside, in a lovely place with a campfire. Everything was perfectly organized and at the end, all the restaurant staff, including the waiters, the maîtres and the cookers sang and dance African songs for all the guests. It was so beautiful that every time Gracila remembers this moment, she cries.

Safari Adventures
Guests have 13 000ha of pristine bush to explore, with the Klaserie Dam lying in the south of Kapama Reserve. We got there absolutely excited with the idea of our new experience, our first Safari. Entering the game reserve in our car we run across a group of lions…. and the adventure hadn’t been commenced! 2 Safaris a day, included in the price, and these are the main reasons that you want to go there! The Safari games were amazing and very much fun. For you to choose Kapama and Hoedspruit airport for us was inspirational. We could not believe when we were picked up at Hoedspruit in the Safari vehicle and within 5 minutes we were in the reserve and virtually on a mini safari drive .
Limpopo is one of South Africa's lushest provinces and is home to a diverse range of wildlife and at least 350 bird species. Southern Camp gave us that true African feeling and the Staff were just wonderful. They could not do enough for us and were on hand to meet all our needs. We saw the Big 5 and more. Even the guide and tracker were amazed at what we all saw in the space of three days.
Exceptional Service
The hotel is very nice and the service was unbelievably above our expectations. They care about every detail of their guests’s stay and everybody who works there is well prepared and make all the efforts to make the guest feel unique and special. The trip was wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay at the Kapama camp and safari adventures. Lots of food and the people were very nice and friendly. The safari was absolutely the best.
They had newly built half of their facilities and they were very luxurious and incredibly modern. Everyone there was very sweet and always trying to make our stay as special as possible. Check in was smooth. Met with the welcome drink, then we started our first Safari just an hour and a half after we arrived which was wonderful. Regarding to the room, it was very nice and comfort. All the services provided by the hotel were amazing and the food was fantastic.

The room was absolutely wonderful and it met our needs totally. The room was really beautiful. The place is outstanding: the pool, the common spaces absolutely perfect: luxurious but not pretentious. Kapama was great, they picked us up at the airport, the room was very nice and bug free. The Kapama was a nice lodge, much more luxurious than what I was expecting. Kapama Southern Camp was by far our favorite.
