Jaz Makadi Saraya Resort Review: A Comprehensive Look

Jaz Makadi Saraya Resort is situated in Makadi Bay, offering an all-inclusive experience with a range of amenities. This review compiles feedback from various guests to provide a comprehensive overview of what you can expect during your stay.

First Impressions and General Ambiance

The first impression is generally positive, with guests noting the beautiful and clean environment, as well as the abundance of greenery and flowers. Several hotels in Makadi are located on the same territory without any fences, small buildings of 2-3 floors that all look alike.

The hotels differ only in concept; some are more oriented towards children's entertainment, while others focus more on youth entertainment. The hotel is quite quiet, with many retirees and families with children. There is a small area for family recreation, many children there.

Rooms and Accommodation

The rooms are clean, the pastel is new without pellets. He cleaned well (only, as usual, it is apparently very difficult for a cleaner to remember everything he had to do and he periodically forgot to replenish something, then soap or water, but that's it).

The rooms are spacious; we had a family deluxe two-room (we paid extra for the pool view). The superior deluxe room is large and spacious. However, the rooms are ordinary and no longer fresh, with bedding and pillows that may need replacement. Also, note that slippers and robes may not be provided.

Some guests have noted issues with the air conditioning, with only one unit working for heating in a two-room suite, and some reported the room being cold at night. Please note that there is no toothpaste or toothbrushes in the room, but there is soap, shower gel, and shampoo. In the room, only water and tea with coffee are provided for free.

Dining Experience

The food is generally considered good, with a variety of options available. The food, as usual in jazz, is good, there is enough of everything, we liked the beer and cocktails, it makes no sense to bring it with us (we had to take our brought back with us).

The food is varied, meat, chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp, and squid were available twice. The pastries and sweets were just superb, although I was always indifferent towards them. For lunch and dinner, there is delicious grilling - sometimes chicken or kebabs, sometimes fish, sometimes shrimp or crabs (if you come closer to the end of dinner - they may run out))) There is always fried fish fillet (similar to tilapia, but very tasty), beef, chicken, lasagna, Chinese noodles with chicken and vegetables (I really liked it). Fruits - oranges, grapefruit, dates, bananas, tangerines, physalis, apples, pears, plums, guava, melons.

At the food court by the pool and on the beach, you can order pizza, burgers, French fries, waffles, and pancakes. As for drinks - in the main restaurant, there is mostly wine and beer (twice a week in the evening champagne, on other days there isn't). At the bar near the reception and by the pool, there are also cocktails (I can't comment on stronger drinks - I wasn't interested))).

There are also just tasteless and strange dishes, like rice with cinnamon. There was even something labeled as dolma, but when you open it, it's bell pepper stuffed with rice 🤣 There are very few fruits; in 10 days, we had mango only once, even though it's the season here now. The melon is green and tasteless. The figs were okay among the fruits, and the bananas were good too.

Hotel Grounds and Amenities

The territory is green 👍 and well-maintained. The hotel is very nice. The territory is beautiful, the food is normal, but there is little greenery.

It is stated to be 400 m to the beach, but that's from the closest room. In fact, it is nice to walk through the well-maintained hotel grounds, unless you have to carry a 2-year-old in your arms, and if it's not July))) The hotel is located on the second line, it takes 10 minutes for an adult to walk quickly, along a beautiful well-groomed, and most importantly clean area, it makes no sense to go, because. The bus will take you to the bus stop, which is a 2-minute walk.

The hotel has 2 pools, one is quiet the other is not, both are excellent. There is free access to the territory of other hotels. You can walk along the promenade. We walked to Sunrise yesterday.

Please note, there are 2 pools. All entertainment happens near the Cabaret pool, and the bar at that pool has a wider variety of food. The rooms that overlook this pool are blocked from it by bushes (but the microphone sound is not hindered). Near the second pool - Ganzabil - there is no entertainment, and the food selection is less.

Beach and Sea

On the beach, as I understand it, sand was brought in, very soft and pleasant, the entrance to the sea without corals (in principle, you won’t need them), we swim further beyond the reef and a beautiful picture of corals and tropical fish of the Red Sea opens up. There are a lot of sun loungers on the beach itself, they are new, everything is fine with this. There is a foot court (hot dog, pizza, fries and salads).

The entrance to the sea is good. The corals, as mentioned in the reviews, are located 20-30 meters from the shore. They are currently marked with buoys. There is marine life. My husband observed octopuses (2 of them) yesterday, and there is a turtle nearby; today we saw a cuttlefish and 2 rays. There are various fish swimming there.

However, what we didn't like was the boats moored by the pier that dump all the dirt; they wash and drain with a hose into the sea with foam 🤦‍♀️. In the morning as we descended from the pier, the sea was crystal clear, but at noon we saw this "delight," turned around, and left. It also smells of fuel, and the currents blow everything to the shore.

Service and Staff

The staff's attitude is excellent, they always ask how you are doing, if everything is fine. The personnel clearly adds to the hotel's rating. It's not perfect, of course, but the rating is 4.9(!), I have never seen higher.

I asked to wash the glass door, a child had smudged it with hands. The cleaner happily reported that he had cleaned the door. I gave 1$. Then I saw - it was still dirty. I met the cleaning supervisor, politely asked to send someone to clean the door. He happily agreed. In 5 minutes he brought the same cleaner, pointed at the door, scolded him in Arabic, after which they both enthusiastically started cleaning the door. They couldn't get it clean)) they happily showed me the result - I had to thank them so they would leave quickly. Well, men just can't clean as well as women)) The room was cleaned adequately, in my critical opinion, about 80-90%.

Regarding the internet. It was connected at the reception and works throughout the territory of Makadi + beach. The internet situation here is really poor; I'm using my Russian SIM card, but the kids are on Wi-Fi. It constantly lags here; on the beach, the kids couldn't get any signal at all, and it doesn't work everywhere on the property, but it does work.

Entertainment and Activities

Animation is hardly visible) The animation was quiet and unobtrusive, maybe it was the season.

There is animation, but we mainly spend time at the sea. In the evening, there is a children's disco at the Shisha bar, followed by a show for adults. There is live music in the evening near the large pool bar. They play volleyball on the beach very actively.

Aqua Gym is super fun. All entertainment happens near the Cabaret pool, and the bar at that pool has a wider variety of food. The kids' club is very simple. One girl, with her they draw, play, assemble puzzles, make crafts. The operating hours are approximately from 10-12:30 and 15-17.
