General Impressions

Guest reviews of Jalsa Beach Hotel & Spa are mixed, with an overall rating reflecting both positive and negative experiences. While some guests rave about the friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere, others express concerns about cleanliness, service, and value for money.

Positive Highlights

  • Friendly and Attentive Staff: Many reviewers consistently praise the staff for their friendliness and attentiveness. Some reviewers mentioned Kushi, Shrishna, Manisha, Fowdar, Katsia, and Vanessa by name, highlighting their exceptional service. The personalized service is something the hotel genuinely strives for.
  • Cleanliness: Cleaned daily.
  • Beautiful Location: The hotel is remotely positioned, but there is a bus stop outside the main gates which will take you to the markets in Flaq and Goodlands. The view from the room and/or the beach is fantastic, as you look across the lagoon to the jungle, mountains, reef and more.
  • Relaxing Atmosphere: The small size of the hotel (60+ rooms) contributes to a personal and intimate atmosphere, ideal for a relaxing break.
  • Good Food Options: Regarding food and drink, it was plentiful, varied, well cooked flavoursome and suited our needs. Asian food is a plus.

Areas for Improvement

  • Room Amenities: Rooms a little tired, some small touches , eg: extra pillows, towels, dressing table mirror , more lights , proper chairs , balcony chairs, sun beds , etc , would make it a more pleasing, experience.
  • Beach Condition: Shame they have lost some beach to nature , this needs some work , old tyres , is not an appealing look.
  • Boathouse Issues: The boathouse is a let down , you can apparently use the paddle boats , canoes , free of charge BUT it is too windy , water to high , water to low. So you actually, never get to use them. The workers sit in there all day , doing nothing , they could be useful and clean the plastic from the side beach. This lets the hotel down and needs addressing.
  • Pest Control: Some guests have reported issues with mice in the rooms and restaurant.
