Cambridge Curriculum

Cambridge Learner Attributes

Kabojja International School is a top-tier school which offers the British Cambridge system in the region and an IB world school. Under Cambridge, they offer classes from Early Years/Foundation Stage (Ages 3 - 5), Cambridge Primary, Key Stage 1 -2 (Ages 5 - 11), Cambridge Lower Secondary, Key Stage 3 (Ages 12 - 14), Key Stage 4, Cambridge Middle Secondary, Key Stage 4 (Ages 15 - 16), and Cambridge Advanced level AS & A2 (Ages 17 & 18).

International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a world-recognized qualification, based on the British General Certificate of Education (GCSE). Course requirements and examinations are administered from the Cambridge University.

In years 10 and 11, students must sit for Mathematics, English Language and six optional subjects at IGCSE level.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a nonprofit educational foundation established in 1968. Aga Khan High School was authorized to teach the IB Diploma programme, starting in September 2005.

The IB Diploma is challenging, but well within the means of average but hardworking students. Diploma students take six core subjects.

The Primary Years Programme (PYP), at the International School of Uganda, is a curriculum framework that is designed without the constraints of political, national and commercial aims. Ultimately the PYP is designed with the child at the heart of the learning community, where the child is nurtured, challenged and supported to become the best that they can be, not in the world, but for the world.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that is important for students.

American Curriculum

Acacia offers an American curriculum with Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The American curriculum is a well-rounded educational framework emphasizing critical thinking, creativity, and practical application of knowledge. As a curriculum, the ENC combines the best elements of the world’s most successful school systems, including Hong Kong, Massachusetts, Singapore and Finland, with some of the most impressive practice from schools in England. It is used by over 30,000 schools in over 150 countries throughout the world. Indeed, there are very few major cities housing international schools where this British curriculum model cannot be found, which is ideal for families who regularly relocate between assignments and therefore cities, easing the transition into new schools.

Additional Curricular Elements

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS): Some schools, like the ones mentioned, follow the EYFS from the UK in their Early Years program.
International Primary Curriculum: This is used in Elementary schools, often alongside Singapore Math.
