Ghana's Squad List for the 2010 FIFA World Cup

The 2010 FIFA World Cup was an international football tournament held in South Africa from June 11 to July 11, 2010. Ghana qualified for the FIFA World Cup finals for the second time, after being the only African side to advance into the knockout stage from the group stage in the 2006 World Cup.

Before announcing their final squad for the tournament, teams were required to name a preliminary squad of 30 players by May 11, 2010, 30 days before the start of the tournament. With the exception of those involved in the 2010 UEFA Champions League Final, the players listed in the preliminary squad were then subjected to a mandatory rest period from May 17 to 23, 2010.

Here's an overview of Ghana's journey and squad composition:

The Black Stars have been a fast-rising football team, having won four CAF African Cup of Nations, two U-17 FIFA World Cups, and are the only African nation to have won the FIFA U-20 World Cup, beating Brazil on penalties in 2009. Ghana entered the Group stages with full fervor, winning the first four games and qualifying for the World Cup finals before losing 1-0 to Libya. In June 2009, they defeated both Mali and Sudan.
