Chad David Anderson: A Life of Love, Faith, and Hard Work
Chad David Anderson passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, in his home in Silver Reef. He was surrounded by his wife and kids, with his horse Pete looking through the window. He slipped from the loving arms of his sweetheart into the waiting arms of his Savior. Chad bravely fought esophageal cancer for two years and endured it well. His family is proud of him.
Chad was born on September 27, 1962, in McMinnville, Oregon. He was raised by his mother, Carlie, and his Grandpa and Grandma Roberts in the Willamette Valley. He had a special bond with his mom; he loved her deeply and felt a responsibility to take care of her from an early age. His Grandpa Roberts was a dairy farmer, and Chad learned the value of hard work watching and helping him. Chad spent many summers in Minersville, Utah, with his Grandparents, Aunt Eleanore, Uncle Ross Marshall, and their family. He looked forward to helping on their farm and riding their retired race horses.
Chad was athletic and played football, basketball, and baseball. He also rode dirt bikes (and even a unicycle). He graduated from McMinnville High School in 1981 and earned his associate degree in construction management from Linn-Benton Community College. Chad then served an honorable mission in Louisville, Kentucky. He considered his mission to be his ‘Waters of Mormon’ and served wholeheartedly. He developed a love for the Lord and the scriptures and became a great teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
After his mission, he attended Brigham Young University, where he continued to study construction management. On August 21, 1993, Chad married Margaret Wines Anderson in Filer, Idaho. They were later sealed together with their children in the St. George Utah Temple. He often said that he was far from perfect, but he loved his family perfectly, and he did!

Chad and Margaret built their first home together the year after they were married. After building and selling several more homes together, they built their home in Silver Reef and moved to Leeds in 2010. Chad worked as a carpenter, framing homes. He and Margaret started Circle A Builders in 1998 and continued working together building custom homes throughout their 31-year marriage. They were great business partners, but more importantly, very best friends. Their kids were able to go to work with their parents often and see their dad work every day. While building beautiful homes, they also built many relationships with many good people along the way. Some of Chad’s clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and employees became his closest friends. He recently said he didn’t want to be remembered for all the homes he had built, but for loving his family. He will be remembered for both.
Chad always wanted to do whatever his family was doing. He was involved in all of his kids’ activities, including sports, music, and even eraser collecting. Chad loved having horses for his kids. He spent many weekends at rodeos with Macy, Clara, and Margaret and had more fun than imaginable. He was thankful to be close to his girls through rodeo and even learned to heel so he could team rope with them. The family was blessed to find some property by the highway in Leeds and have a ‘little farm.’ They built a roping arena and a hay barn, and it made Chad happy to have a place to keep animals, motorcycles, tractors, and every tool known to man. He loved spending time at the farm with his family, and he loved to work and do chores. He was especially grateful to have Austin home the past few months and for the time they spent doing chores together. His favorite thing to do at the farm was drag his arena-it always looked perfect. The farm became a cherished spot for Chad to spend time, especially in his last few years when he had so many rough days. Chad thought of his farm as a little piece of heaven.
Chad considered marrying Margaret to be the smartest thing he ever did. They shared everything together and built a beautiful life and marriage. Their relationship is something their children adore and aspire to. Chad was so thankful for the care Margaret gave him during the tender times of his last two years. He never missed an opportunity to thank Margaret; she would reply with, “you would do the same for me,” and he always said, “I would.” He made sure his kids knew what a great mom they had.
He was extremely proud of his kids. He was a very humble man, but he wasn’t afraid to brag about them. He was filled with pride for their accomplishments, but mostly for the kind of people they became. He was thankful for each of the three special people his children chose to marry and was happy to have more kids to love.
Chad served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in many capacities. He was the moving coordinator many times because he always had a truck and trailer, Young Men’s president, Elders Quorum president, First Counselor in the Bishopric, and his favorite, CTR 6 teacher with Margaret. Chad touched many hearts teaching about the Savior and tenderly testifying of Him. He was a true disciple of Jesus Christ.

While he was incredibly sad to leave his family, Chad was ready to go Home. He endured so much and was tired. He gave everything he had and left the rest up to God. His example of faith and trust in Heavenly Father and the Savior is something his family will never forget. Chad held his family close and left nothing unsaid. He gave them everything they needed to succeed in life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the medical experts who provided Chad’s care. They had nothing but positive experiences with the healthcare workers they encountered. They would also like to thank all those who worked with Chad and stepped up when Chad and Margaret needed them most. Many reached out to let Chad know they cared and the impact he had on their lives. This meant so much.

Funeral services will be at the Leeds Chapel on 75 North Main in Leeds, Utah, at 10:00 AM Saturday, September, 28, 2024. Chad will be laid to rest at the Downtown St. George Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join us afterward for lunch at the Leeds Church to visit with the family. Arrangements are made under the direction of Hughes Mortuary.

Chad Eric Storey, husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, in his hometown of Stayton, Oregon. He was 50 years old.

Born on May 12, 1975, in Salem, Oregon, Chad was born to Dr. Henry Frank Storey and Eileen (Tower) Storey. He was raised in Stayton, where he grew up surrounded by the close-knit community that would remain his home throughout his life. Chad graduated from Regis High School, Class of 1993, and later earned his Bachelor's degree in English from Western Oregon University in 1998.
While at college, Chad met his best friend, Vicky Hooley, who would become his wife and life partner. The two were married on August 15, 1998, in Sweet Home, Oregon, and were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Emma Rae and Rosa Mae. Chad was a devoted and involved father, and truly delighted in spending time with his girls and their friends.
Chad was a talented and creative landscape contractor. He owned and operated Storey Custom Landscape for 17 years, creating beauty in the community he loved. Later, he brought that same passion and leadership to his role managing Siegmund Landscape Supply. Chad found great joy in landscaping his own yard and spending time in nature, appreciating God's creation.
A faithful member of Foothills Church, Chad lived his life with deep-rooted values, an ever-present sense of humor, and being a champion for the underdog. He volunteered with the Foothills Church middle school youth ministry for 10 years, sharing his faith and forming strong connections with youth. Chad was an avid Boston Celtics fan and loved the game of basketball, both as a fan and a coach. Known by many as a father figure and mentor, Chad had a gift for making others feel seen and supported. Whether he was working, coaching, laughing with family, or walking in nature, Chad’s goal was to have fun and make sure people felt good around him.

Chad Edward Beard: A Heart of Gold
Chad Edward Beard, a cherished son, devoted father, and beloved friend, passed away on January 29, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, at the age of 50. Born on December 24, 1974, in Opelousas, Louisiana, Chad's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter illuminated the lives of all who knew him.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 8:00am until 11:00am. The Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home at 11:00am with Father Henry Antony officiating. Burial will follow in the Beard Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Danton Beard, Ethen Breaux, Mark Bihm, Jonathon Beard, Jason Lamana, and Joey Fontenot. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Gambrell, Jeff Quebedeaux, Jacob Firmin, and Terry Mengarelli.
Chad was more than just a man. He was a father, a grandfather, a fiancé, a businessman, a hard worker, and the most down-to-earth person one could ever meet. He was genuine and kind. Chad's laugh was contagious, and his presence lit up any room he walked into. He never knew a stranger and never hesitated to help anyone in need. Chad's work ethic was unmatched. He built his business from the ground up, thriving and succeeding in the construction industry for over 20 years.
Chad loved his fiancé, Tiffany (Tiff), for 14 years. The love he had for her cannot be put into words. He truly loved Tiff wholeheartedly. Chad found happiness within his children. Not a soul ever doubted the love Chad held for his children. They were his everything. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family, never once complaining, giving them everything they needed and more. His hands, worn from years of labor, were the hands that built his family’s dreams and future. Chad has seven special children who call him “Pop,” and everyone knew how proud of a grandfather he was. The love he had for his grandchildren was never doubted. They lit up every time they encountered their “Pop.”
A few things he enjoyed were cooking and singing on his porch, spending countless hours on and off the baseball field with his youngest son, boiling crawfish, and riding ATVs. He was an outdoor enthusiast. Though the time has come to say goodbye, Chad lived a full and great life. He led by example, never questioning the love his family had for him. He was the true definition of a father, brother, friend, and spouse.
Chad is survived by his fiancé, Tiffany Smith; his mother, Judy Beard; his sons, Danton Beard, Ethen Breaux, and Braylon Beard; his daughters, Gabrielle Buller and her husband Samuel Buller, Amelia Beard, Makali Beard, and Amelia Breaux; his seven grandchildren, Jack Buller, Loretta Buller, Wes Buller, Brooks Steib, Ryder Barker, Ellie Barker, and Holden Beard; his brother, Mark Bihm; and his sisters, Jacintha Stevens and Deneen Bihm.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Wilbur Beard, Jr.; his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his brothers, Larry Beard and Johnny Beard.
As we remember Chad Edward Beard, his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched, especially within his beloved family.
Chad Robert Burton: A Soul of a Fisherman and Strength of Family
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Chad Robert Burton, 44, of Urbandale, Iowa, who left us on June 29, 2025, after a brief but brave battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, Chad brought the soul of a fisherman and the strength of deep family roots into every chapter of his life. A proud graduate of Davenport West High School (Class of 1999), Chad went on to earn his degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005. A natural athlete, he played baseball and basketball during his school years, where his competitive spirit and love for teamwork flourished.
From an early age, he found joy and peace casting lines into the Mississippi River, especially at the cherished family cabin-where laughter echoed off the water and lasting memories were made. Whether playing euchre with a sly grin or shouting support for his beloved St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Lions, Chad’s passions were loyal and lively.
Professionally, Chad excelled first in restaurant management-including memorable years at Jethro’s BBQ-and later as a logistics coordinator at Express Logistics, where his integrity, work ethic, and natural connection with people made him deeply respected. Chad carried the wisdom and values passed down from his grandparents, always striving to live by the example they set-kindness, humility, and unwavering integrity-principles that shaped the man he became.
But Chad’s most cherished title was “Dad.” He married Erin Miller on September 23, 2006, and together they raised Andrew and Lainey with love, wit, and unwavering support. Chad's love for his children was boundless-he delighted in their triumphs, stood strong through their challenges, and found his greatest joy in being present for the everyday moments: cheering from the sidelines, sharing fishing tips, and making sure laughter echoed through their days. Later, on October 7, 2017, Chad married Emily Clogg, and their bond was defined by mutual devotion, deep respect, and unconditional love. They shared a beautiful partnership marked by resilience and tenderness-even through the profound loss of their infant son, Owen, in 2020. Chad’s capacity for love only grew deeper, and his quiet strength became a beacon to those around him.
To know Chad was to feel seen. He had an uncanny ability to make others feel valued, heard, and understood. His friendships ran deep, his loyalty was steadfast, and his presence was a calm in any storm. Chad’s legacy lives on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Chad Scott Freckleton: A Life Filled with Miracles
Our beloved husband, dad, son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021, after his most recent battle with liver disease. Chad’s life was truly filled with miracles and though he endured many health challenges, he faced them with faith, strength, and a positive attitude.
Chad Scott Freckleton was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 12, 1980, to Robert Scott Freckleton and Emajane Carlile Freckleton. Chad is the oldest of four boys. He honored and respected his parents for how they raised their sons. Chad met his eternal companion, Marcie Koller, during their high school years. They enjoyed many school dances and dates during high school. They continued their courtship following Chad’s service as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and were sealed together for time and all eternity on May 23, 2002, in the Salt Lake Temple. Their early marriage years were filled with work, education, and fun, and their friendship and love for each other was evident. They made every decision together and included each other in everything they did. They were truly united as one. They have three amazing children: Kayla (15 years-old), Taycee (9 years-old) and Zachary (6 years-old). Chad’s family and the gospel mean everything to him.
Chad understood the importance of education. He graduated from Hunter High School in 1998 and attended Snow College. After Snow College, Chad served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he believed Eugene, Oregon was the best mission in the world. He had close relationships with many of the missionaries and the people of Oregon, and he taught with the gift of proclamation. He was especially close with his mission president and wife, Ronald and Jodie Smart, and he greatly admired them. Upon returning from his mission, Chad worked for his dad at Redwood Camper and Trailer Sales. Chad had a special relationship with his dad as they worked together for many years. Chad attended the University of Utah and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and Health. Chad showed his desire for furthering his education by obtaining his master’s degree in Health Administration in 2019.
Chad was diagnosed with cryptogenic cirrhosis of the liver in July 2005. He endured many complications from the disease, but he fought through them with patience, strength, faith, and optimism. He never complained or dwelt on his challenges. He always brought joy to those around him, regardless of the pain he endured. He received his first liver transplant on June 30, 2009. He soared through his first transplant but received the difficult news that the hepatic artery had clotted off which meant he desperately needed another new liver. Chad received his second liver transplant on July 19, 2009. The second transplant was truly a miracle, and we are grateful for the 12 additional years of life his organ donors gave him.
Chad loved sharing his transplant experiences with other people during various speaking opportunities. He wanted to share his testimony of using the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the power it gives to endure and find joy during the trials of this life. Following Chad’s recovery from his second liver transplant, he received a job at the University of Utah Hospital in 2011. His work at the hospital was a blessing, and his experience as a patient was truly an asset in his role as a Quality Specialist for Huntsman Cancer Hospital. He loved his job, coworkers, and the work being done to improve patient satisfaction and quality care. He had a great desire to contribute to the excellent work being done at the University of Utah Hospital and Huntsman Cancer Hospital.
Chad is a noble and valiant son of our Heavenly Father. He loves the gospel and has a gift for sharing it with those around him through word and example. Chad served honorably in many callings, and he particularly loved serving the youth. He was a beloved Young Men’s leader and has greatly influenced those he taught for many years. Chad is strong in his testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ, and he honored his priesthood. He said one of his greatest blessings this past year was the opportunity to administer the sacrament to our family each Sunday during the pandemic.
Chad is an amazing husband and dad and we adore him. He makes us laugh and his wisdom and gift of instruction are inspiring. Whenever Chad spoke in causal or formal settings, we listened. We are eternally grateful for his example of charity, sacrifice, service, hard work, fun, laughter, and real joy. We are grateful for the covenants we have made in the holy temple that bind our family together for eternity.
Chad is survived by his devoted wife, Marcie Koller Freckleton, and his three loving children, Kayla (daughter), Taycee (daughter) and Zach (son). His parents Scott and Emajane, his brothers Jeff (Aubry), Derek (Jamie), and Jaren (Kira), his in-laws Ronald and Carol Koller, his grandmother Janice Freckleton, and many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.

Chad made a point of thanking each person by name who cared for him, and we are very grateful for the many healthcare workers and support staff who provided such great care. We are also grateful for family and friends who have uplifted us with their love, prayers, and service.
