Brew Bistro and Lounge is a renowned nightlife spot in Nairobi, celebrated for its master brewers and premium brews, as well as its exquisite restaurant. Located on Piedmont Plaza along Ngong Road, the establishment was opened by The Big Five Breweries Company in 2009. It offers an exceptional culinary experience with a touch of drama.
Brew Bistro is one of the most favorite bars in Nairobi. The venue boasts a fine dining restaurant that provides a serene alternative to the lively terrace bar. This is a restaurant that has a striking setting, where guests can enjoy their meals. The bar has a variety of beers and wines.
New Location in Westlands
Recently, Brew Bistro opened a new location in Westlands, specifically on the rooftop of Fortis Towers. The fabulous owner invited guests to one of their “trial” nights before the official opening. The parking is a little confusing and a bit of a maze - best to come in with a driver. Only one of the lifts goes straight to the rooftop where Brew is located, the other 2 go to the level below and you then have to walk up.
Once at the top, the manager revealed all the hidden nooks and crannies! There is a wonderful shisha area, uncovered and open to the elements. With cosy day beds and comfortable seating, one could probably lie there all day with a shisha pipe by their side. At night, there is fabulous blue lighting in that section giving it the funky edge we’re so accustomed to with Brew.
The main point of attraction is the boxing ring/dance floor in the middle which will be used every so often to showcase Boxing matches. Surrounding the ring are lots of picnic style tables where you can enjoy one of Brews famous burgers or wings accompanied by a 5 litre keg of beer. Of course they are still serving all their signature beers as well.

Ambiance and Decor
As soon as you exit the lift, you are greeted with the bright green turf (fake grass) that brings in a fresh vibrancy to the place. Right next to the low, picnic-style tables and benches is the airy and open-to-the-elements sheesha area. Patrons can smoke a sheesha while relaxing on black and white cozy day beds and sofas under red umbrellas, overlooking the stunning views of Nairobi.
The main attraction is the dance floor, which is surrounded by several high tables with beautiful red, geometrical chairs. Brew Bistro’s iconic red is visible throughout the lounge. They will host boxing matches in a boxing ring on the dance floor once a month. Next to the dance floor, were more high tables near the island bar, where their amazing cocktails are created.
Around the bar and near the dance floor, murals hang on the walls showing the beer brewing process, since they couldn’t have a brewery on site, like the one at Brew Bistro in Piedmont Plaza. On the other side of the bar is a private room that can accommodate about 20-25 people, perfect for a more intimate setting or corporate events. The views of Nairobi from the huge windows in this room are phenomenal.
Menu and Food Review
Brew Bistro serves tapas and bistro pub fare, where there is a large array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes to choose from, ranging from the famous Big Five burgers to the chicken wings to pasta! The menu is far larger and diverse than your average pub. The kitchen has glass walls all around so you can see your food being made - always a good sign as that means it always has to be clean!
The lunch menu (from 11am-4pm) is specially curated to serve the corporate crowd from and around Westlands. The Brew crafted beer - Chuikolsch, is 100% malt pale blond, crystal clear with a light body, medium bitterness and clean taste. There is a variety of beers and wines, with an array of over 1000 different wines.
