Agelgil Ethiopian Restaurant in Seattle, WA, offers a unique dining experience that showcases the vibrant and flavorful cuisine of Ethiopia. If there is better Ethiopian in the Seattle area, it's hard to imagine how it could be; this place was perfect.
A Feast of Flavors
The veggie combo serving for two was generously enormous, colorful, flavorful. There were standouts including the yellow and orange split pea and lentils. Yum. Cold, rather than warm beets was a surprise, but delightful. The shiro wat hit the spot, and the gomen may be the best I've had anywhere. We enjoyed the meat and veg combo for lunch. A generous portion. Also really appreciated the pickled veggies,...
Agelgil is an institution, and their meat-forward dishes absolutely stand the test of time-like berbere-kicked key wot and collard greens stewed with short ribs.
A Complete Experience
The Coffee Ceremony tray included extra incense, plenty to play with throughout the meal, and intriguingly flavored popcorn. The coffee, rich and black.

Ambiance and Atmosphere

I'd especially recommend this restaurant for those familiar with Ethiopian fare, as well as newcomers to the cuisine.
Don't Forget Your "Lunchbox"

We went here for some lunch with some friends over the weekend and I was shocked about how much of their menu changed since the new owner took over.
