For years, African Pride has been a trusted name in hair care. Many people have relied on African Pride's Olive Miracle Leave-in Conditioner during the transition from relaxed to natural hair. One of the best things about African Pride is that their products are usually affordable.
The African Pride Moisture Miracle collection can be found at select Walmart locations, Dollar General, and local beauty supply stores. This review will explore several products from this line, offering a detailed look at their effectiveness and overall value.
Pre-Shampoo: Aloe & Coconut Water Detangle & Condition
The pre-shampoo is designed to soften and detangle hair with the natural benefits of aloe vera and the hydrating properties of coconut water.
This pre-shampoo is a game changer, softening hair and making detangling easy before wash day. The consistency feels like a gel due to the aloe vera, and while it’s runny, it feels heavy, coating each strand effectively. The detangling properties were immediately evident upon application.

Shampoo: Honey & Coconut Oil Nourish & Shine
This shampoo gently cleanses hair of dirt and build-up without stripping natural oils. It combines honey and coconut oil to deeply penetrate and hydrate coils and curls.
This shampoo cleanses the scalp well without drying out the hair, leaving it soft throughout the washing process. It was easy to detangle my hair with this shampoo.
Conditioner: Honey & Coconut Oil Hydrate & Define
This conditioner aims to restore moisture by combining honey and coconut oil with chocolate (cacao) to strengthen and repair dry coils and curls.
In all honesty, this conditioner didn’t WOW me like the pre-shampoo and shampoo. Interestingly, this conditioner is fairly watery in consistency. I actually feel like the shampoo was more moisturizing and had better slip than this conditioner.
Masque: Moroccan Red Clay Detox & Replenish
This detoxifying and restorative clay masque uses Moroccan red clay to remove impurities and product build-up. Shea butter replenishes moisture and tames frizz.

This masque is heat-activated, so using heat enhances its moisturizing properties. After using a hooded bonnet dryer attachment for 15 minutes, hair felt extremely moisturized. The thickness of the masque means you don't need to use a lot, and it stays put when the jar is turned upside down.

Leave-In Conditioner: Coconut Milk & Honey Hydrate & Shine
This leave-in conditioner combines coconut milk with honey to soften, hydrate, and add shine to hair.
This spray smells SO good! It’s very lightweight and moisturizing. It’s a lightweight and moisturizing spray, perfect for refreshing curls or using in warmer weather. Or, when the weather is warmer as I like to use thicker leave-in products during colder months.
Leave-In Cream: Coconut Oil & Baobab Oil
Hydrate and strengthen hair with a nourishing blend of coconut and baobab oils.

This leave-in is very thick, which I like for the colder months. Since this leave-in cream is on the thicker side, I’d suggest applying water before applying this cream. This way it’ll be easier to work the product through your hair. It’s best used when styling on wash day.
Curling Cream: Shea Butter & Flaxseed Oil
This versatile styling cream blends shea butter and flaxseed oil to provide deep moisture, lasting definition, and radiant shine, ensuring coils and curly styles are smooth and bouncy with a soft hold.
This curling cream is great! This cream will definitely be a staple product! Like the leave-in cream, this product is somewhat on the thicker side. I say somewhat because it’s a bit runny, however, a little goes a long way. If you apply too much, it might leave your hair flaky.
5 Essential Oils: Castor, Grapeseed, Argan, Coconut, Olive
This oil uses a nourishing mix of five premium oils (Castor, Grapeseed, Argan, Coconut, Olive) plus vitamin E to replenish natural nutrients, protect against breakage, promote growth, and strengthen strands, while infusing coils and curls with moisture and body.
This is the ULTIMATE scalp and hair oil. Sealant when doing my LOC/LCO styling method.2. Hot oil treatment.

Final Thoughts
My absolute favorites from this line are the pre-shampoo, shampoo, heat-activated masque, and 5 essential oils! I’d give this entire collection a high rating. Although I wasn’t thoroughly impressed with the conditioner, every other product in this collection was GOLD! Especially for the price point of each product, I think this collection is amazing.
