Who Was Needed

The casting call sought individuals comfortable on camera for a photo and video shoot for Western Union. The following groups were of particular interest:

  • South Asian and/or Indian people: People age 14+ with ancestry in South Asian countries.
  • North African and/or Middle Eastern people: Adults, kids, and teens with ancestry in North African and/or Middle Eastern countries.
  • Muslim Kids/Teens: Kids under 20 who are Muslim and/or have experience celebrating Ramadan.
  • Seniors: Adults age 50+ who are comfortable on camera.

No professional acting/modeling experience was needed to apply. Applicants should have felt comfortable on camera and be good at taking direction.

Pay included hours worked and the use of the talent's image by the advertiser as outlined in the usage terms. Mileage/lodging reimbursement was available for talent who lived more than 100 miles from Portland. Talent agents received an additional +20% on all listed rates.

Usage Terms

The usage terms are:

  • Stills: 1 year global - online, digital, internet/new media, print retail, OOH (includes BTS). Paid + organic.
  • Video: 1 year global - online, internet/new media, digital (includes OTT/Streaming/Connected TV), paid + organic.

Hiring Requirements

To be eligible for hire, applicants needed to meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18+
  • Live in Oregon, Washington, or California
  • Be legally eligible to work in the US

If an applicant had a talent agent, it was mandatory to list the agency on the application.

People of all identities (races, sizes, physical abilities, genders, sexualities, religions, ethnicities, countries of origin, and more) who fell within the given parameters were welcome and encouraged to apply. The casting aimed to represent authentic diversity across all projects.

Non-Disclosure Agreement

By applying for the project, applicants agreed not to mention their involvement in the project, nor disclose to outside parties any details regarding the advertiser, product, or shoot that may have been shared during the casting process. Violation of the NDA could have resulted in termination and/or legal action.
