Potential Issues and Considerations
While many travelers have positive experiences, it's important to be aware of potential issues. Some passengers have reported problems such as:
- Lost or damaged luggage.
- Uncomfortable seating, especially on older planes.
- Poor food quality or lack of meal options (e.g., vegan, gluten-free).
- Delays and disorganization during boarding.
- Inconsistent service from flight attendants.
- Cleanliness issues on the plane.
One of the worst check in process at the DIA as well as the boarding counter Changed seat at the last minute and assigned middle seat while I paid for window seat. Requested many times but to no avail . horrible customer service and very poor process Requesting refund for seat that was changed last minute.
Boarding was chaotic. Service was poor. Attendant was slow and rude. In business class, I was not offered a drink until 1.5 hrs, after takeoff. Food was inedible.
Cairo airport has probably the most stressful and overcomplicated security system in the world. Can't really blame Egypt Airlines.
Check in was madness. Boarding was madness. The flight itself was OK, and the flight attendants were nice. Connection to my next flight was two hours. But based on my arrival gate in Cairo, and next departure gate in Cairo, the whole two hours were needed given the inefficient procedures. At the end of my journey (connected to Lufthansa after Egyptair), my checked luggage did not arrive, and after 4 days, has still not arrived.

I know this isn’t the airline’s fault but the security at Cairo airport was a joke. With the terrible security record on flights out of Egypt, they really need to take it seriously. Scanners weren’t working, liquids were allowed on, only one person operating the cray machine and searching bags caused a massive backlog of people…I’m convinced you could have got anything onto that plane if you were determined enough. By the way, it was the same story in Aswan airport.
