First Impressions and Check-In

Upon arrival, some guests have reported being immediately informed about room options, with a potential upcharge for a "normal" room, creating a feeling of being pressured for additional fees right from the start.

Rooms

Some guests have noted that the rooms can be outdated, with older furniture and textiles. The room is not killed, but the plug in the bathroom had to be removed because the mechanism that raises it is broken. There is a refrigerator, but it is very small in size and you can only put something into it sideways (there were difficulties with half a watermelon). Noise isolation is very poor, you can hear everything that happens outside. If you sleep lightly, you will constantly wake up.

Hotel Territory and Beach

The territory of the hotel is green and well-groomed. The lawn is neatly mowed and clean. The beach is clean, but there is one thing. There are not enough sun loungers under the awnings, the local contingent practices throwing towels on in the morning, and if you come to the beach after breakfast, then your destiny is to burn in the sun. You can normally go to bed around 16:00. The sea is clean, it is better to have a look at the tide chart, because during low tide the water is knee-deep and swimming is uncomfortable. Pools are normal.

Services

There is Wi-Fi on site, but it is paid. You can sit in the lobby for free, but the speed leaves much to be desired. Many recommend purchasing a local sim card for better connectivity. Massage is so-so. The general lasted as much as 30 minutes and cost $40.

Entertainment and Activities

Animation is available, but opinions vary on its quality. Bars work, but the quality of alcohol leaves much to be desired (beer, in principle, is normal). Ice cream is just frozen syrup diluted, although I met people who liked it (in my opinion it has nothing to do with normal store-bought ice cream). Yes, and the horns are full of holes from below, get ready for the fact that it will flow. There is a disco every few days, takes place near the pool next to the beach. Rattles until three in the morning. Heard throughout. At the entrance to the hotel building there is some kind of stage where some kind of competitions are held every evening. I didn't go there and can't say anything more.

Dining Experience

The quality of her washing is not controlled. After the dishwasher, the campaign is immediately taken out and set. Dried food remains on plates and cutlery. There seems to be a choice of food, but 80% of the food is tasteless. And you eat all the time only proven options. You want to spit out most of the desserts right away and drink something to remove the aftertaste. Re-feeding of products is widely practiced. For example, today mashed potatoes for dinner, and tomorrow for breakfast the same mashed potatoes, but with traces of heating it in a pan. Boiled eggs with a black yolk and spoiled cheese are commonplace. The feta looks delicious. Meat cuts are 100% soy. Cheese cuts are disgusting. It looks like it's made from camel's milk. Local juices are diluted UPI and there is not a single gram of natural there.

Dining Options at Nubian Village Hotel
Restaurant Type Description Guest Feedback
Main Restaurant Buffet-style dining with a variety of options. Mixed reviews; some found the food tasteless and repetitive.
Italian Restaurant Offers a set menu of Italian dishes. Dishes are simple, like homemade meals.
Gala Dinner Special event with a wide array of dishes, including seafood. Crowded and chaotic; sushi quality is questionable.

Some guests recommend walking 2km to the Arab Bucks cafe for a normal meal, where they have delicious grilled shrimp and seafood soup at reasonable prices. Dishes like grandma's. Spaghetti - the usual vermicelli with gravy. I'll cook a hundred times better pancake.

Gala Dinner

This event deserved a separate item. First, they keep everyone in the lobby and give them cocktails to drink (I got a good one, xs how are the others). When the whole hall is packed, the doors are opened and this whole crowd runs into the hall like Americans in a shopping center on Black Friday. Some kind of madness begins, everyone runs back and forth, the dishes fall. Children run around waist-high with plates from which food falls on the floor. People surround the seafood table in three tight rings. The first ring is picking up 20 pieces of sushi on one plate, the second ring is trying to grab at least something from behind, and the third ring is picking up phones and with outstretched arms trying to remove the table to quickly show off in the story. Such a game, it was already a shame that these were my compatriots.

Guest Behavior and Atmosphere

Sitting by the pool at night, drinking and yelling all over the territory is the norm. It's okay if someone sleeps in a nearby room. Some individuals do not see anything shameful in yelling obscenities at their child across the entire corridor, at 7 in the morning, because he ran ahead. Children squeal along the corridors, run, the stairs rattle as if all this is happening in your room. Shouting at children on the beach or something to each other under the closet is commonplace. The beach is a lot of bred for massages and other services. I watched a couple of times a showdown on the beach for a place under the fungus.

Surrounding Area

There are shops nearby. I recommend walking to the store "George Clooney", in all the rest there are sellers-breeders who cannot add up the price of the goods and are trying to sell moldy strawberries. If you want to have a normal meal, then it makes sense to walk 2km to the Arab Bucks cafe, where they have delicious grilled shrimp and seafood soup. Reasonable prices.

Alternative Accommodation: Hadouta Masreya

For a more authentic Nubian experience, consider staying at Hadouta Masreya in the Nubian village of Gharb Seheil. Hadouta Masreya, which translates to “Egyptian Tale” in Arabic, is a traditional guesthouse named after the iconic song by legendary Egyptian singer Mohamed Mounir, who also happens to be a family friend of the owners. Instead of just numbers, each room is named after one of his songs, with the lyrics beautifully inscribed on the walls. It’s also worth mentioning that Hadouta Masreya was the second guesthouse ever to open its doors to the public in Gharb Seheil.

Hadouta Masreya offers single, double, and triple rooms, making the guesthouse perfect for solo travelers as well as those traveling in pairs or groups. Some of the rooms come with a balcony and a premium Nile view—I stayed in one of those on my last visit. It’s the first guesthouse in the Nubian village to embrace upcycling by creatively repurposing wooden pallets into beds. This not only makes the property eco-friendly but also reflects its commitment to simplicity. Hadouta Masreya prioritizes hospitality, quality service, and a culturally immersive experience.
