Admission into the Nigeria Police Academy

The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, has officially announced the commencement of its admission process into the 12th Regular Course Degree Programmes. If you selected POLAC as your first choice in the recent JAMB and meet the required criteria, this is your chance to begin your journey towards earning a university degree while receiving professional police training.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must fulfill a set of carefully outlined requirements:

  • The applicant must be Nigerian by birth and must possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN).
  • All candidates must have scored a minimum of 180 in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and must have selected Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first-choice institution.
  • Candidates are required to have a minimum of six credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or any other recognized equivalent examination.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 21 by 31st October, 2025.
  • Male applicants must have a minimum chest measurement of 86cm (34 inches).

The Nigeria Police Academy emphasized that it does not operate through any agents or third parties, and applicants should be cautious of scammers or unauthorized individuals posing as representatives of the institution. The online application portal will be opened for the period of six weeks from 14th October, 2024 to 18th November, 2024. Where prospective applicants are required to complete the online application form and submit same with the specified period.

The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC) Post-UTME application fee costs ₦6,000 in total. This includes ₦2,000 for the Post-UTME screening examination. To pay, interested applicants must first visit the official POLAC admission portal to generate a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code.

a. The RRR can be used to make payment of non-refundable fee of Five Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N5500) only (N2000 for POST UTME Examinations is included) through any Commercial Bank Branch in Nigeria. This will allow the applicant to fill in the online application form.

Payment can then be made at any commercial bank nationwide or online using a debit (ATM) card. After submitting the form, print your confirmation slip and keep it safe.

In addition, applicants are required to upload scanned copies of their SSCE, Birth certificates and Certificate of Origin. Applications are to be submitted online. On submission of the applications, candidates are required to download the Acknowledgement Form.

All applicants will take a computer-based aptitude test at the Nigeria Police Academy ICT Centre in Wudil. If you pass the CBT, you’ll be invited for an automated physical screening at the Academy. Those who scale through the physical screening will then take part in an automated medical screening.

Candidates who are successful in the Selection Examination will be invited for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Board screening and interview.
