Today’s adventure begins with a spectacular drive through the majestic High Atlas Mountains. Trade urban bustle for expansive landscapes when you venture over the High Atlas mountains. You will journey southward, crossing the dramatic terrain that stretches before you, where the landscapes shift from the bustling city to the tranquil beauty of the mountains.

Your route takes you through the breathtaking Tizi N’Tichka Pass, soaring at 2,260 meters above sea level. This winding mountain road offers sweeping, panoramic views of the rugged High Atlas Mountains, with each twist and turn revealing yet another stunning vista. Travel across the Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate, exploring Ait Ben Haddou and the Taouirt kasbah. Cross the Atlas Mountains to the Unesco-listed Ait Ben Haddou and continue to Ouarzazate, known for its well-preserved kasbahs and cinematic appeal.

Stop for a walking visit to explore the 14th century World Heritage site, listed in 1987. Day 4: Todgha Gorge and Sahara Desert

Today, you will embark on a spectacular journey towards the magical Sahara Desert, the largest hot desert in the world, where the undulating golden dunes shimmer like gold under the sun. Experience the dramatic beauty of Todgha Gorge, followed by a thrilling 4x4 adventure to the enchanting dunes of Erg Chibbi in Erfoud.

After breakfast and spending the night in the heart of the beautiful Dades valley, we depart towards Tinghir, where we will deviate to a minor road following the river of Todgha Gorge. Contemplate the scenic panoramic views of the old Jewish and Berber mud villages, overlooking the valley.

The Todgha Gorge is recognised worldwide for being one of the most spectacular rocky canyons. No wonder this place has been used for filming many movies due to its magnificent natural setting, one of the most famous movies being the “Mummy”. In this region, a vibrant community of Berber nomads has called the area home for centuries. As you travel through, you may catch sight of Berber women, their faces adorned with traditional tattoos, a deep cultural symbol of their heritage.
