Primate Lodge has a range of accommodation options to suit adventurous travellers at any budget. Located in the middle of Kibale Forest National Park, where the silence is only interrupted by the melodious calls of forest birds, Primate Lodge consists of nine luxury en suite cottages and seven forest cottages. Each cottage is positioned deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural feel of living in nature!

Luxury Cottages

The luxury cottages are constructed of local brick and grass thatched for an authentic African feel. They have full-length and full-width sliding glass door frontage that offers dramatic views of the forest flora. Each room holds a 2x double size bed or 1x king-size bed, a sitting area with 2 comfortable armchairs, and a large veranda with excellent views of the forest. Other room amenities include electronic safes, a classic wardrobe, a natural-log coffee table, a reading lamp, and a luggage rack. Bathroom amenities include crisp white bathrobes, bath and hand towels, bathroom slippers, and refreshing and nicely scented shower gels. Hair gels, hand and body lotions as well as bottled mineral water are present also.

Standard Cottages

Also, these cottages have wide glass windows and doors plus a spacious veranda all overlooking the lovely rain forest around. These lovely cottages occupy a separate wing to the south, each fixed with either lx Queen Size bed or 2x Twin Size beds. The private bathroom features both hot and cold water in the showers. They have a set of 2 cushioned weaved Leeds armchairs, a coffee table, classic bedside lamps, African wall hangings, and hide mats as well as the director’s camping chair on the veranda. Other room amenities include Mosquito nets, bath and hand towels, bathroom slippers, and refreshing and nicely scented shower gels. Shampoo and body lotions as well as complimentary bottled mineral water are provided also.

Family Cottage

This is so ideal for visitors traveling as a family as it holds interconnecting doors with separate and independent en-suite rooms. It has one Double bed Room and one Twin bed Room.

Honeymoon Cottage

This is a double-storied Banda comprising an upstairs bedroom extending out over a large, elevated thatched wooden veranda that extends right into the forest canopy. The veranda is ideal for evening relaxation with a drink as you soak in the sun rays enjoying the great views of tall forest trees. While here, you can spot Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys and Red Colobus Monkeys that roam in the surrounding trees. This cottage is superb for a candlelit dinner on your special night! Its ground floor room features a spacious living room and separate shower rooms and a lavatory. This room can sometimes be taken by small families with the downstairs room transformed into a small bedroom for one person. It’s fitted with a giant 7×7 King size Bed.

Campsite

Kibale Primate Lodge holds a well-maintained campsite that features shared washing facilities. Guests interested in camping must carry their tent.

Set out on morning and afternoon expeditions, seeking out chimpanzees and the dozen other primate species that can be found in Kibale National Park. Enjoy guided nature walks through the forest, as well as night walks in search of the forest's nocturnal animals. Truly intrepid guests should not miss a chance to stay in the Sky Tree House.
