Discovery on Franklin Avenue
Franklin Avenue, typically a quiet street in New Rochelle known for its well-maintained multi-family homes, became the scene of a gruesome discovery at 155 Franklin. Police uncovered the body of a woman inside a storage bin located in a third-floor apartment.
A local resident, Dunkley, who knows the victim (yet to be formally identified by police), expressed her shock and sadness. "I just saw her last week," Dunkley said. "Very, very kind, had a heart of gold. She was just looking for shelter, and friendship."

According to court documents, police were alerted to the body on Friday after a report was filed. Tilford initially told New Rochelle police that she was out of town in Virginia during the week in question. However, this alibi was quickly disproven by evidence obtained by the police.
Surveillance Footage and Evidence
Police obtained surveillance video showing Tilford at a nearby Home Depot store earlier in the week. The felony complaint indicates that she purchased items including a coverall, bleach, tarps, a storage bin, and a chainsaw. It is important to note that the body was not found dismembered.

Community Reaction
Dunkley described the suspect as menacing. "She pretends to have this good image, but she has a black soul. She should never be let out of prison for the rest of her life," Dunkley said.
Possible Defense
The complaint hints at a possible defense strategy. Tilford informed police that she uses drugs and takes medication to treat mental illness.
