Kenya Summer Moore, born on January 24, 1971, in Detroit, Michigan, is an accomplished American actress, author, entrepreneur, television personality, and beauty pageant titleholder. She is best known for winning Miss USA 1993. Moore's journey has been marked by both professional success and personal challenges.
Early Life and Career
Moore began modeling at the age of 14 and graced the cover of Ebony Man magazine in January 1992. She also modeled for the Ebony Fashion Fair cosmetic line and appeared on the covers of Glamour, Seventeen, Ebony, and Essence magazines.
At 22, Moore won Miss Michigan USA 1993 and subsequently became the second African American woman to win Miss USA. This victory catapulted her into the spotlight and opened doors to various opportunities in the entertainment industry.
Moore graduated from Cass Technical High School in 1989. While still in high school, Moore experienced domestic violence from a much older boyfriend.
Professional Ventures
Moore has also produced and directed various projects and launched her own company, Moore Vision Media in 2008. Moore Vision Media produced the erotic thriller "The Confidant". Moore is credited as producer/director of the film Trapped: Haitian Nights. After the project lost its director, Moore took over the production and completed the film.

Moore was born to teenagers Patricia Moore and Ronald Grant and raised by her paternal grandmother Doris Grant and aunt after her mother abandoned her three days after her birth. The reality-TV-show star revealed that her mother never named her. "Since birth, my mother made the decision at age 16 to pretend she never had me. She has never spoken to me," Kenya wrote. "Even if present in the same room with other people and family, she pretends that I simply don't exist. She pretends I'm invisible," Kenya revealed on her Bravo blog.
Raised by her late grandmother, Kenya has long been estranged from her mother. Though, her mom did send Brooklyn a birthday gift when she turned 1.

Kenya Moore tries to be extremely close to her daughter, even with her busy work schedule. If she has to travel for a week or more, Brooklyn comes along. Moore says that Brooklyn is still a little too young to understand the situation. Moore and Brooklyn's father, Mark Daly, are divorced.

Moore says she started learning bout adoption and "figuring it all out," but then decided to put that idea on hold. Moore is not abandoning her dream, though. "Listen," she says, "marriage is still not out of the question, and hopefully I can still meet someone that also may want additional children, or we could become a blended family. You just never know what God has in store."

"Thank you for giving me an Aunt by blood but little sister in every way imaginable. It’s amazing how God works!!!! One: I was only three days old, I was the only baby in the house and nine months later my grandmother, who raised me, had my aunt Lisa. And at 3 days old [for Brooklyn], she flew from Detroit to help me take care of Brooklyn. Won’t he do it?!!!" Kenya wrote on Instagram. "I trust her with my life and she['s] so in love with Brooklyn! Kenya Moore has had to face some hard realities during Season 12 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. And as she was dealing with a possible divorce from Marc Daly, she also had to decide how to handle their daughter Brooklyn Daly's well-being in case the unimaginable should happen to her."Now I really have to protect Brooklyn, make sure she's OK," Kenya said in the April 5 episode of RHOA when meeting with an attorney, even though at the time her future with Marc was still up in the air. "Financially speaking, I've already gotten certain things in place, but I just need to make sure that it's all in the trust. And I need everything to be handled by one person and that's my Aunt Lisa."
Moore's ex-husband Marc Daly was ordered to pay $2k a month in child support, daughter allowed to film 'RHOA'.
