NeNe Leakes vs. Kenya Moore: A Deep Dive into Their Reality TV Feud

When it comes to reality TV drama, NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore are two names that never fail to stir up conversation. If you're an avid viewer of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know that NeNe Leakes and Kenya Moore just don't get along.

Recently, the two former Real Housewives of Atlanta castmates found themselves in the middle of a new feud, this time over NeNe’s use of filters on social media. Of course, true to form, NeNe didn’t hold back when responding to Kenya’s comments, and she even threw a little shade in the process.

The Filter Feud Begins

It all started during an Amazon livestream where Kenya Moore and Kandi Burruss were discussing NeNe in a seemingly positive light. Moore complimented NeNe’s appearance but couldn’t resist a playful jab, saying, “I think NeNe looks great. I just need her to back off the filters and stuff.”

Kandi, ever the voice of reason, fired back, “All y’all been doing the filters, honey!” Moore, however, was not backing down, asserting, “Nah…not like that. This is natural, honey. I wake up looking like this.”

But NeNe wasn’t about to let that slide. She recently sat down for an interview on The Breakfast Club, where she shared her candid thoughts on the situation. According to NeNe, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using filters-and let’s face it, nearly everyone does. But what really ruffled her feathers was Moore’s insinuation that NeNe was hiding behind something fake.

“I use a filter, and I am the filter,” NeNe quipped, making it clear that she’s not bothered by the use of filters in general, but rather by how some people might try to act as if they don’t use them. “These girls need to use filters too!”

NeNe Leakes Throws Shade in Style

Of course, as expected from a reality TV queen, NeNe didn’t stop there. When asked about their encounter at the airport after the remarks were made, NeNe was blunt about what she saw. “Well, she wasn’t looking amazing. She looked okay; she wasn’t looking her best. She could’ve used a hairdo and a filter,” she said, sending fans into a frenzy over her unapologetic honesty.

Surgery Rumors and Future Plans

NeNe Leakes also addressed the constant rumors surrounding her appearance, particularly the idea that she’s had surgery. “I get accused all the time of having surgery,” she said. But as she pointed out, getting surgery requires recovery time, and she’s never had to go through that.

NeNe did admit, however, that she’s planning to undergo breast augmentation in the near future. She revealed that it’s been 15 years since her first procedure and hinted at even bigger plans for her body in the future, promising to share the journey once she finds a sponsor.

NeNe’s Possible Return to RHOA?

As if the drama wasn’t enough, NeNe also opened up about the possibility of returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta. While she didn’t confirm anything, the hint was clear-she’s open to making a comeback. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see if NeNe Leakes will return to the show that made her a household name, and with the ongoing drama, it certainly seems like the door isn’t closed.

All of us Bravoholics have our opinions about every Real Housewives. But the one I cannot understand is the lack of respect some Real Housewives of Atlanta viewers show to NeNe Leakes. Yes, NeNe’s last few seasons on the show weren’t her best by far. And people like Kenya Moore, who is an expert at playing the villain, were calling her out on it in their own ways.

But NeNe is and always has been the Beyonce. She’s THE OG of OGs. And she deserves to be respected as such. NeNe recently made my heart flutter by saying she’d be open to an RHOA return, after a sit-down chat with Andy Cohen. It seemed to me like NeNe burned her last bridge with the network, but I don’t think her points were totally invalid. I think if communicated calmly and off-camera, she might find a way to patch things up with Andy.

NeNe and Kenya particularly had a rough few seasons. Their feud got ugly, and I attribute it to their cut-throat attempts at battling for the Queen Bee spot. But NeNe’s the star, that’s just the case. Does that mean sometimes she might need to be checked when her ego gets the best of her? Absolutely. We’ve seen Kandi Burruss take that route before.

Twirl is iconic in her own right on the show. NayNay can play the Real Housewives game better than anybody, and her legacy should not be questioned. At least if NeNe comes back, she won’t have to worry about Cynthia Bailey getting in the middle of her vs. Twirl recently made some kind comments toward NeNe when Gregg Leakes sadly passed away from cancer. It was nice to see her put her differences aside and show some respect.

So I was excited when Kenya said in a recent interview on E! When asked her opinion about if NeNe should return to RHOA, Kenya wasn’t all that shady. “I know she has a lot of fans and people love her,” Twirl said. “She has made her mark on the show and she made the show what it is.” Now THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT. Good old fashion respect.

Kenya added that by NeNe’s recent statements, it sounds like her old co-star is really wanting to come back. Kenya was a little bit skeptical about NeNe’s ability to make peace with Andy and the network. “Whether there’s a future for her there in terms of with the network or, you know, the higher-ups, I can’t really speak to that,” she added.
