Egypt has become a hub for international education, with a growing number of schools offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Schools in Egypt started to adopt the International Baccalaureate system in 1989. In 2017, the IB celebrated its 40th anniversary of offering the IB programme in Africa.
