“Trust me, running my real estate business, tv career and family in a way where my family and career goals are fulfilled has been a juggling act," Sherrod added.

The television and radio personality recalled years where she felt like all she did was work but ended up discovering she ultimately lacked “love or fulfillment at home.” Having a family was definitely one of them.

“That’s when I realized it couldn’t be all grind, and I had to balance my priorities,” she explained. “Hang in there mommas!! You can indeed have it all, but it will be a constant recalibration of priorities. You may have to allow a few work opportunities to pass for a while, but they’ll be there when u are ready to grind again. For now, be there for the small family moments and the big ones.”

It may be the perfect home renovation duo love story: Sherrod and Jackson fell in love while working on a house. While the pair knew each other from the world of entertainment, they didn’t truly connect until they were working on a home project for a client. It happened in the early 2000s when Sherrod was working as a real estate agent who was flipping houses. She needed help completing some of the construction, so help was hired. "[She] needed some extra hands, and the team that showed up was mine," Jackson told The List. "And from that point on, we were inseparable."

Sherrod explained in the video: “That’s the problem with designers. But I get to express myself with our clients’ houses.”

They also have a dreamy backyard, which they’ve shared videos of on Instagram. It features a sizable deck and pool with water features. The outdoor space is lined by tall trees, providing privacy and a magical forest backdrop.

Sherrod and Jackson don’t take themselves too seriously. The couple is constantly joking around, whether it’s on their HGTV show or online. “The secret to a long-lasting relationship is………. She continued: “Tough lessons build character, grace by fire. When I was fired from my first job at 17 I learned ACCOUNTABILITY. When I started gambling with my own money flipping houses I learned CALCULATED RISK. When I decided to start my own business I learned the importance of INTEGRITY. When I chose to leave an 18 year radio career, I learned to WALK ON FAITH. When I wanted love and marriage, I learned there was no ‘I’ in ‘WE.’”

She encouraged everyone to view challenges in a new light. “So let’s look at every obstacle as an opportunity to learn more about our own resilience, fortitude, and determination,” she added.
