Chad's Growing Hospitality Sector

N’djamena has seen some level of activity in its hotel supply recently. The long-standing Le Meridien was rebranded to a Mercure (with 61 rooms), after the Starwood-owned brand pulled out in 2014. The Mercure brand is owned by Accor, which also operates the dual-branded Novotel and Ibis (with 150 rooms and 102 rooms, respectively). Kempinski, a Geneva-based luxury hotel group, also operated a 177-room hotel in the capital city that opened in 2004. Carlson Rezidor announced a 175-room Radisson Blu N’djamena, also in the Sabangali district.

This expansion of hotel options in N'Djamena reflects the city's growing importance as a regional hub.
