I got a tweet a few weeks back requesting a food timetable for students, and I had to oblige! It’s free, and I hope it is a useful resource for students (please share). Sample Nigerian Food Timetable for Students

This sample food timetable provides a balanced and nutritious diet for students. It includes a variety of staple foods, vegetables, and protein sources. It can be adjusted to suit individual preferences and dietary restrictions.

Day 1 Akara and Bread Noodle & Chopped Vegetables + Egg Fish Stew & Sweet Potato
Day 2 Dodo and Scrambled Eggs Stewed Beans and Ijebu Garri Stir fry Macaroni
Day 3 Moi Moi (bean pudding) & Oats Ofada Rice with dodo Eba and Ogbono Soup
Day 4 Custard & Akara Beans & Dodo Spaghetti & Boiled Egg
Day 5 Akamu (pap) with milk and sugar Ogbono Soup & Fufu Jollof Spaghetti
Day 6 French Toast + grapes Fish Stew & Sweet Potato Fufu and Ogbono Soup
Day 7 Boiled Yam with Scrambled eggs Rice and fish stew + steamed carrots Eba and Ogbono Okra soup

Important Notes

  • Soup per week: I choose Ogbono because the more you reheat it, the yummier it becomes, and a small portion of Ogbono seeds can make a big pot of Ogbono Soup. Add N50 Uziza leaves and thank me later.
  • If you have time, you can make Akara/Moin Moin - 1 cup of beans can make enough Akara or Moin Moin. Unless you want to purchase. N100 Naira Akara and Bread N100/150 will do the job.
  • Staples for food should include: Yam, Milk, Eggs, Noodles, Garri, Bread, Custard, Oil, Rice, Pasta, Salt, Sugar. Add Tomato Puree to your stew to make it thicker and go a long way.
