The Egypt Star Bakery has been a local landmark since the 1930s, offering delicious baked goods and fresh breads to the Lehigh Valley. Family owned and operated for over eighty years, it continues to produce its full line of baked goods.
The original company, called Star Bakery, was located in Egypt, PA. Unfortunately, the building was lost to a fire. Consequently, this prompted the owners to purchase The Star Baking Company in Allentown. It was then that the two companies were joined to bring what we know as The Egypt Star Bakery.
To this end, the bakery employs neighbors, friends, and their family members! Egypt Star Bakery has been offering jobs to local bakers and their families since the birth of the company. We pride ourselves on offering job security and have never laid off an employee.
As demographics have shifted in the Lehigh Valley so has our customer base as we have added new customers with different tastes. We are also fortunate to have many local businesses sell our product or use it to make theirs. Working with local businesses selling our product and using it to make their product. We love collaborating with other businesses to bring a sense of community and support their business.
We use time-honored recipes that have kept customers coming back time-and-again, while also adding new products and ingredients to constantly build our menu. We strive for quality and freshness above all else, so when you choose Egypt Star, you aren’t getting something that’s been made the week before. Instead, you’re getting freshly baked goods every time for the whole family to enjoy, from PA Dutch baked goods to cakes, muffins, and challah bread.

The Menu: A Delicious Array of Baked Goods
At Egypt Star Bakery, we offer a delicious array of freshly baked breads, rolls, pastries, and specialty cakes made daily using traditional brick ovens. We use only brick ovens operated by gas, coal, and oil. Yes! All of our baked goods are made fresh each day using time-tested recipes and high-quality ingredients.
Our bakeries have everything you need for every occasion from traditional Kiffles to Lekvar buns and specialty cakes for celebrations. Let our family serve your family.
Breads
We offer a wide variety of breads, including rye, pumpernickel, sourdough, whole wheat, Italian, and more. Our crown jewels include medium rye and Vienna loaves.
Pastries
Indulge in our delectable pastries, including apple danishes and sticky buns.
Cakes
We offer buttercream iced cakes, and custom celebration cakes for birthdays and parties.

During Egypt Star Bakery’s early years, we’ve sent out drivers with our delectable bulk baked goods for door-to-door delivery. While we no longer offer that service, several of the original concepts of our business remain.
We have lots to choose from when you visit one of our four locations in Allentown, Coplay, Whitehall, and Emmaus, you can get a glimpse of them here. So, stop by our local bakery to get the freshest bakery and patisserie goods. In addition, we offer delicious breads, cookies, cakes and so much more! We’ll see you there!
My whole family drives from Lebanon and Lancaster PA to regularly pick up Egypt star rye bread! It’s the only kind of bread we ever have. Thank you for the years of happiness your breads and doughnuts have provided our family! I love coming here for their powdered doughnuts and French bread…crusty outside and soft/chewy inside. I recommend splurging on some European butter or kerrigold butter and slather it on some of their French bread. Delicious is the only word to explain the amazing pastries,eclairs,breads,cheese buns & best of all the Awesome buttercream iced Birthday cakes!! I love this bakery! For any event that we have at my house I order their keiser rolls for Turkey BBQ, Hamburgers, etc. I also had them create a birthday cake for my little boy which they did such an amazing job.
