One of our friends was asking given a choice where they should go (Egypt or Greece) and Egypt was hands down our recommendation. This post isn't to knock Greece, we really did enjoy our stay in Athens, Greek food, our visit to the Acropolis, the National Museum but not so much Santorini (found it super crowded and underwhelming). In terms of comparing structures like the Pyramids and 3000+ year old tombs in Egypt with the Acropolis and other archaeological ruins in Greece, we found Egypt much more interesting. In general, there were many historical things to see in Egypt compared to Greece.
