Early Career

Because of the fact that she did an impersonation of Annie Lennox, and people said she looked like Brigitte Nielsen, Chad was formerly known as Brigitte Love. Michaels moved to Las Vegas in 1997 to work with La Cage, and the show required each entertainer to be introduced at the end of the show by their male name.

Inspirations

Chad: I would have to say that my biggest drag inspiration has always been Cher! I am first and foremost a Cher impersonator. Cher’s style, irreverent attitude, one of a kind voice, unique beauty, and charitable endeavors have all made a big impression on me. I have always done my best to be the best Cher I can be!

Season 4

The season began with a design challenge, which Michaels performed adequately in, but the episode 2, Chad won his first challenge alongside Madame LaQueer, the "WTF!: Wrestling's Trashiest Fighters", where the contestants had to play wrestlers. Chad won his second challenge in Episode 5, the Snatch Game, where he impersonated Cher. His performance has been regarded as one of the best performances in the challenge's history.

Chad performed solidly in the remaining challenges, not winning any but doing well enough to be safe. This ended in episode 11, where Chad performed poorly in a ball challenge and was put into the bottom two against Latrice Royale. The two lip-synced to "No One Else on Earth" by Wynona Judd.

Chad Michaels on performing

Chad Michaels on costumes

Chad: Oh man! This is the worst for me and the reason why I make my own costumes. I always get those nosey ladies that scrape through the clearance racks looking at me sideways or interrogating me on what I’m buying and why I’m buying it.

Chad Michaels on fitness

Chad: I really have no kind of set work out routine. I bust my ass on stage 4-6 nights per week and I’ve always felt like that is a pretty killer workout. You try dancing for dollars in 5 inch heels every night! Talk about buns of steel lady boys and girls!

Chad Michaels on heels

Chad: The tallest pair of heels I’ve ever worn were a 9 inch stack platform boot. The most evil pair of heels ever worn was a pair of fetish patent leather ballet point shoes/heels. One is basically standing on their tip toes for the evening in these little brats! Ouch doesn’t begin…!
