This is original storytelling: not a remake, franchise, or copy. Be part of building something entirely unique and be one of the first in the world to see it.
Help us craft something that takes inspiration from the past, yet speaks to the realities of now - a future cult classic, a film that can be a cultural touchstone for the next generation of weirdos and oddballs.
The Making of FAIRY DUST
THE PRODUCTIONFAIRY DUST is a handcrafted labour of love by an incredibly talented and experienced team of artists and performers. As much as possible we'll be shooting everything practically, and with absolutely no use of Generative AI whatsoever.
The FAIRY DUST team was able to raise £8,800 during our first crowdfund campaign to officially start pre-production on the film with the funds covering the cost of costumes, props, and securing our many locations.

This leaves us tantalizingly close to our budget goals, but we need your help with one final push to get this movie over the line.
Paranoid Android Films recently released a brand-new, award-winning adaptation of Rumpelstiltskin, a film which also had a fantasy period setting - so we know it can be done with the right amount of blood, sweat and fairy dust!
In addition, we'll be adding to the budget with tax credits, grants, etc. to maximize our resources.
The film is scheduled to go into production in October 2025 and will be shot on location in the UK.

Inspirations Behind FAIRY DUST
FAIRY DUST is inspired by 1980s films like Return to Oz, Legend, The NeverEnding Story and more contemporary films like MirrorMask, Pan's Labyrinth and Moon Garden. The film is an otherworldly fairytale with a touch of horror, a dash of heavy metal, and over two dozen custom masks handmade by the director himself!

Why Crowdfunding?
The landscape for funding independent film is an increasingly tough one to navigate these days - and let's face it - even harder with a film as unique and weird as this. This is why we're turning to crowdfunding to help realize our vision, as we know there is an audience hungry for new and exciting stories, even if the gatekeepers aren't.
Top 3 Reasons to Contribute:
- Help us to tell a tale that could never be told any other way.
- Be part of building something entirely unique and be one of the first in the world to see it.
- Help us craft something that takes inspiration from the past, yet speaks to the realities of now - a future cult classic, a film that can be a cultural touchstone for the next generation of weirdos and oddballs.
Meet the Cast of FAIRY DUST
The cast of FAIRY DUST brings together a talented ensemble to bring this unique vision to life:
- Zoe Villiers plays "Saga", a neurodivergent tomboy in 1980s England who would rather spend her days alone fighting imaginary monsters and her nights dreaming of a beautiful princess to avoid the problematic realities of growing up too fast in a world that’s ready to eat her whole.
- Sam Todd plays "Barlow the Majestic", Saga’s eventual sidekick. Barlow is a brash young man who believes himself to be the Boy-King, a legendary hero, on a mission to save the Fae Princess from imprisonment.
- Josephine McAdam plays "Aislinn the Fae Princess", the benevolent and powerful former ruler now believed held captive by the ruthless emperor, The Rex-Imperator.
- Joss Carter plays "Aamon the Black", a sinister sorcerer with command of the shadows, who has been tasked with destroying the Fae population and their Boy-King who threatens the reign of the Rex-Imperator.
- Nicholas Vince plays "Uncle Ewen", a shady drug dealer and friend of Saga's father. Nicholas also voices "Arthur" and "Emil", a pair of mischievous brigands.
- Annabella Rich plays "Miss Beatrix", the opinionated and pragmatic rabbit-faced thief who fancies herself a "purveyor of opportunity".
- Anna Fraser plays "Mister Gaius", the silent and curious partner to Miss Beatrix.
