Chad Hutchinson's career is a testament to versatility and determination, transitioning from professional sports to a prominent role in private equity. Today, we’re interviewing a rare two-sport pro athlete turned PE executive, Chad Hutchinson.

“With tenacity and courage, Chad has built two incredible careers - one in professional sports and one in private equity,” said Arctos co-founder and Managing Partner Ian Charles. “He brings with him the experience and rigor of helping build and grow one of the private equity industry’s leading platforms as well as the unique perspective of a professional athlete in both baseball and football. Prior to joining Arctos, Hutchinson served as a managing director at Sixth Street (formerly TPG Sixth Street Partners) where he helped build the firm’s agricultural investment practice and led a number of investments in specialty finance, growth equity and structured solutions. Before his decade and a half career in finance, Hutchinson was a two-sport professional athlete serving both as a starting pitcher for the St.
Mr. Arctos Partners’ own Chad Hutchinson recently sat down with Ted Seides on the Capital Allocators podcast. In a wide-ranging conversation, the pair discuss Chad’s early years, becoming a two-sport professional athlete, forging a third career in private markets that led him to Arctos, as well as the framework for interdisciplinary success that Chad developed along the way.
I am so fired up at what we're building here on the sports side. I'm confident we'll have another 20 teams that portfolio. But the thing that I I'm most proud of and most excited about is just I am seeing the tangible efforts of the value that we're creating for our teams. That's just business when you think about sports. Sports hope. Sports is community. Sports is all these other things that are meaningful to me. That's what sport is. So I can sit in my seat and go if I can help this be an everlasting, infinite enterprise that is really a thriving business. Ultimately that impacts everybody in that community. It impacts all those people that are wanting to be professional athletes. Some of these organizations have 500 people. That impacts so many people. And so if I feel like I can make that impact, pay it forward, serve others, obviously great returns for our investors. That's where we're gonna go. So I think what we've built here is this amazing.
