Chad Green has made a significant impact on the Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers baseball team. His contributions and achievements highlight his talent and dedication to the sport.
In the 2024 season, Green showcased his batting prowess by hitting .385 and slugging .654. His performance contributed to the Rangers' success, earning him recognition among the top players in the Great American Conference (GAC).
The Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers had a strong showing in the 2024 All-GAC selections, with seven players recognized. Among them were First Teamers Dylan Bradford and Carson Wright, Second Teamers Hagen Barcello, Chad Green, and Jacob Shaw, along with Honorable Mention picks Paul Sachen and Trevor Saire.

Bradford hit .380 with a .491 on-base percentage. Wright’s .389 average ranked third in the conference. Barcello hit. 307 with 51 RBI. Green hit .385 and slugged .654. Shaw’s eight saves ranked second in the GAC.
The Great American Conference (GAC) released the results of the 2025 GAC baseball ballot. Several teams and players were recognized for their achievements and potential in the upcoming season.

Arkansas-Monticello collected six first-place votes to enter the season as the preseason favorite. In 2024, the Weevils shared the regular-season title with the Wonder Boys and Bisons, won the program’s third GAC Championship and reached an NCAA Central Super Regional for the first time ever. They return GAC Freshman of the Year and consensus All-American Camden Tanner.
Harding’s Maddox Long repeated as Pitcher of the Year. Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Wesley Mitchell won Player of the Year; Henderson State’s Jeremy Schork claimed Newcomer of the Year; Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Logan Sandoval earned Freshman of the Year. Long became only the second two-time GAC Pitcher of the Year.
Long, Southern Arkansas starter Jeremy Adorno, Southwestern Oklahoma State designated hitter Bodi Wallar and the Savage Storm’s Chase Keeton made the First Team by unanimous vote. Adorno went 6-2 with a 3.32 ERA. His 97 strikeouts rank second in the conference. Wallar’s .392 average ranks third in the GAC. Keeton’s .792 slugging percentage led the league.
Arkansas Tech, Henderson State and Arkansas-Monticello each placed two on the First Team. Tech’s Tyler Sardelli ranked in the top five in average, on-base percentage, runs and triples while Cole Dawson ended the regular season as the only GAC player hitting above. 400, at .401. He added 21 stolen bases. The Reddies Payton Byrd notched a GAC-best 13 saves. He struck out 45 in 34.0 innings. Luke Farrar added 14 home runs and 52 RBI.
Outfielder Kirk Woolf led the league in triples and walks. Harding’s Logan Lacey, Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Will Kates, Ouachita Baptist’s Chase Oberle and SWOSU’s Gage Gaunt filled out the team. Lacey scored a league-high 57 runs and finished as one of just three GAC players with at least 10 home runs and 10 stolen bases.

The league awarded its Elite Scholar Athlete Award - Presented By Conway Regional Health System to 13 student-athletes in Arkansas Tech’s Dayton Francis, Simon Murray and Kolby Webb; Harding’s Long, Jay Merritt and Chance Resetich; East Central’s Tanner Collins and Braden Williams, Oklahoma Baptist’s Jaxon McAuliff and Jonah Mahen, Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Garret Coiner and Eric Foufoulas and Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Jason McCarty .
The All-GAC Second Team consisted of Schork, five from Ouachita Baptist - Garrett Graham, Luke House, Isaac Nowell, Tag Pacot and Wesley Scott; four from UAM - Connor Irvine, Maxim Mrakovcic, Justin Santoyo and Cam Tanner; Oklahoma Baptist’s Lucas Schaefer and D.J. Oberle, Poppy, Farrar, Lacey, Dawson, Bradford and Woolf added All-Defensive Teams honors to their postseason accolades.
The Wonder Boys gave the GAC three 2024 NCAA Tournament participants. They return a pair of All-GAC selections in Second Team starting pitcher John Gray and Honorable Mention third baseman Brendyn Bard. Gray went 6-3 with 72 strikeouts.
Southern Arkansas edged out Henderson State for fourth place. The Muleriders return First-Team All-GAC shortstop Brandon Nicoll, who hit .316 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI. Starting pitcher Jeremy Adorno and third baseman Jaden Woolbright also return. Adorno struck out 100 batters in 88.0 innings and held the opposition to a .223 average. Woolbright added a .301 average with eight home runs and 34 RBI.
The Reddies’ Reese Weaks placed on the All-GAC Second Team after going 5-1 with 70 strikeouts. Northwestern Oklahoma State claimed sixth, followed by Oklahoma Baptist and Ouachita Baptist.

The Bison must replace the league’s top two home run hitters in Player of the Year Troy Shields and All-American Alex Schroeder. They combined for 42 home runs and 164 RBI. They bring back All-GAC infielders Jayden Shafer and Spencer Dickinson. Shafer led the GAC in walks and ranked second with 66 runs scored.
The Tigers bring back GAC Newcomer of the Year Chase Oberle and Honorable Mention second baseman Wesley Scott. In 2024, Oberle led the conference with a 2.23 ERA. He went 6-4 with 81 strikeouts in 84.2 innings pitched.
Southwestern Oklahoma State, Southeastern Oklahoma State, East Central and Southern Nazarene rounded out the poll. SWOSU features a first-year head coach in former Bulldog and long-time assistant JR Head. Head worked on Zack Saunders' staff for the previous 10 seasons.
Regular-season play begins on Friday, January 31. The Weevils and Wonder Boys travel to Houston for the Houston Astros Winter Invitational. Henderson State, Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas head to Hot Springs for the Dugan Invitational. Oklahoma Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central will all visit Central Oklahoma for the Edmond First Pitch Classic. Harding hosts Missouri Western; Northwestern Oklahoma State faces Colorado Christian and Southwestern Oklahoma State welcomes in Colorado School of Mines.
In addition to Gaeckle, junior left-hander Landon Beidelschies and junior right-hander Christian Foutch earned second-team praise at starting pitcher and relief pitcher, respectively. Gaeckle, who enters the 2025 campaign as Baseball America’s preseason SEC Pitcher of the Year as well as a preseason All-American by Baseball America, D1Baseball and Perfect Game, heads into the season looking to build upon a historic rookie year in which he was named a unanimous first-team Freshman All-American.
The Razorbacks are scheduled to play eight games on SEC Network and one on ESPN2. All 36 of Arkansas’ home games at Baum-Walker Stadium will be streamed or broadcast on SEC Network+ or the ESPN family of networks. The Razorbacks’ midweek matchup against non-conference opponent Grambling on April 1 at CHI St.
Four wildcard games during the final weekend of the regular season (May 15-17) will be selected to air on SEC Network and ESPN2. All 15 games of the SEC Tournament are slated to be televised May 20-25.
During the 2020-21 season, S&T recorded five top-five finishes during the season, taking home a season-best second at he Arkansas Monticello Dancing Rabbit Intercollegiate.
In the 2021-22 season, the Miners recorded two first place finishes, recording the first multi-win season since the program returned. S&T won the Northwestern Oklahoma State Ranger Invite to end the fall season and also won the Lindenwood Invitational. The Miners recorded four top five finishes during the season and placed fifth at the GLVC Championships, narrowly missing out on advancing to match play for the second year in a row.
