Chad Davis: A Legacy in Collegiate Hockey

Chad Davis has built a remarkable career in collegiate hockey, transitioning from a player to a highly successful coach. His journey includes significant achievements at multiple NCAA institutions, showcasing his dedication and expertise in the sport.

Early Playing Career

Davis played at NCAA Division I American International College, appearing in 52 games as a goaltender from 2001-04.

Coaching Success at Adrian College

Before his stint at RIT, Davis put together a stellar resume at NCAA Division III Adrian College, where he amassed a 150-37-10 record in seven seasons with the Bulldogs. He guided the Bulldogs to a 150-37-10 record, which made him the winningest coach in the program's history.

Davis won the NCHA regular-season championship in four consecutive seasons (2015-18) and captured the conference tournament title three times (2016-18). His teams also made three consecutive NCAA tournament trips from 2016-18 and finished as the national runners-up in 2017.

Move to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT)

Davis comes to MSOE from his most recent stop of Rochester Institute of Technology. He coached two seasons at NCAA D-I RIT and was named CHA Coach of the Year after turning around the Tiger's women's team.

Saint Mary's University

"I would like to thank Athletic Director Brian Sisson, President Father Burns, and the entire hiring committee for the opportunity to lead the women's hockey program at Saint Mary's University," said Daivs, who inherits a team that finished 8-15-2 a year ago. "I look forward to meeting the team and beginning the championship process. "As a former hockey student-athlete, and someone who has taken a team to the national championship, we are excited to get started and see Chad's impact on our program," Sisson added. "We are thrilled to have Chad lead our women's hockey program and our amazing student-athletes," Sisson said.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE)

The expansion of women's sports at Milwaukee School of Engineering is moving full steam ahead. "Chad's vast experience and success as a head hockey coach makes him an ideal selection for our new women's hockey program," said MSOE athletic director and head men's basketball coach Brian Miller. "He has had success at both the D-III level and at a high academic engineering-based institution. I couldn't script a better resume for a candidate for this position. "I believe the MSOE women's hockey program is going to be an amazing platform for future student athletes to be champions in the classroom, on the ice, and in the community," said Davis. MSOE women's hockey will play their home contests inside the Kern Center and will share the facilities with the men's hockey program. Continued Success at Adrian College

Chad Davis is entering his ninth season as the head coach of the Adrian College NCAA women’s hockey program with the 2025-26 campaign.

  • The team finished the NCHA season with a perfect 18-0-0 conference record.
  • Due to the success in conference, the team won its third consecutive regular season crown (Kronschnabel Trophy).
  • Adrian drew Gustavus Adolphus in the semifinal round, defeating the Gusties in overtime to advance to the title game against No. 1 Plattsburgh State.
  • Adrian fell in an overtime thriller to the Cardinals in the championship game.
